๐น๐ฟ๐ TANZANIA BEGINS DIALOGUE ON AQUATIC ANIMAL WELFARE
Tanzania, through the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries, in collaboration with stakeholders in the aquaculture sector, has continued to emphasize the importance of the welfare of fish and other aquatic animals as a key part of the sustainable development of the aquaculture industry.
During the meeting held in Dar es Salaam from August 31 to September 1, 2026, stakeholders had the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences on farming practices that prioritize the health and welfare of aquatic animals, better production systems, and the safety of fish products for consumers.
For Tanzania and Africa as a whole, the growth of the aquaculture sector must go hand in hand with responsible farming, the use of best production practices, and the protection of both fish health and consumer health.
AAT continues to support efforts aimed at increasing knowledge, professionalism, and the sustainable growth of the aquaculture sector in Tanzania. ๐น๐ฟ๐
๐น๐ฟ๐ TANZANIA YAANZA MJADALA WA USTAWI WA VIUMBE MAJI
Tanzania kupitia Wizara ya Mifugo na Uvuvi, kwa kushirikiana na wadau wa sekta ya ukuzaji viumbe maji, imeendelea kuweka msisitizo katika umuhimu wa ustawi wa samaki na viumbe maji k**a sehemu muhimu ya maendeleo endelevu ya sekta ya aquaculture.
Katika mkutano uliofanyika Dar es Salaam kuanzia Agosti 31 hadi Septemba 1, 2026, wadau walipata nafasi ya kubadilishana maarifa na uzoefu kuhusu ufugaji unaozingatia afya na ustawi wa viumbe maji, uzalishaji bora pamoja na usalama wa mazao ya samaki kwa walaji.
Kwa Tanzania na Afrika kwa ujumla, ukuaji wa sekta ya aquaculture unapaswa kwenda sambamba na ufugaji unaowajibika, matumizi ya mbinu bora za uzalishaji na kulinda afya ya samaki na walaji.
AAT inaendelea kuunga mkono juhudi zinazolenga kuongeza maarifa, taaluma na maendeleo endelevu ya sekta ya ukuzaji viumbe maji nchini Tanzania. ๐น๐ฟ๐
