The High Commissioner, H.E. Catherine Karemu, met representatives of Kenya's business community in Tanzania at Johari Rotana, Dar es Salaam.
They had a productive exchange on their experiences, opportunities for expanding trade and investment, and ways the High Commission could support stronger business partnerships between the two countries.

The High Commissioner looked forward to a continued engagement in pursuit of deepening the economic and commercial ties between Kenya and Tanzania and between peoples of the two countries.

The High Commissioner was accompanied by the Head of Chancery, Mr. Hussein Sheikh, and the Immigration Attaché, Mr. Patrick Kiarie.

Mazungumzo hayo yamejikita katika kujadili namna bora ya kuimarisha ushirikiano kati ya nchi hizo mbili, pamoja na kubainisha malengo ya pamoja katika kuendeleza ushirikiano wauwili katika yenye kuleta maendeleo yenye manufaa kwa wananchi wa mataifa yote mawili.

The High Commissioner, H.E. Amb. Catherine Karemu received Mr. George Abasy-Nengo, Heineken Beverage's Head of Policy and Regulatory for East Africa based in Kenya who paid her a courtesy call.

Mr. Abasy-Nengo apprised the High Commissioner of the work of the company in the region. The High Commissioner called on businesses to take advantage of the vast opportunities in the East African Community.

H.E Amb.Catherine Karemu, High Commissioner of the Republic of Kenya to the United Republic of Tanzania while on a visit in Zanzibar, paid a courtesy call at the Zanzibar Commission for Tourism on 28th July 2026 and held a meeting with Mr. Suleiman Ali Mohammed and Mr. Arif Abass Manji who are the Chairman and the CEO of the Commission respectively. During the meeting, they discussed areas of cooperation between Kenya and Zanzibar in the tourism sector.

H.E Amb.Catherine Karemu, High Commissioner of the Republic of Kenya to the United Republic of Tanzania held a meeting with the Kenyan Diaspora in Zanzibar on 28th July 2026.

The meeting discussed among others, issues affecting Kenyans living in Zanzibar, enhancing Diaspora engagement and their contribution to national development while also exploring opportunities for partnership, technology and skills transfer.
