Show Time: Mon to Fri at 9:30 pm on Channel 152 and 1 am on Channel 53 Formosa News is broadcast Monday to Friday at 9:25 p.m.

Since its launch in 1997, FTV News has been a leading source for news affecting Taiwan. One of its primary objectives is to reach a broader audience by broadcasting in multiple languages, including Mandarin and Taiwanese. It is also one of the few stations to offer a local news program in English. Formosa News, FTV's English news show, is the longest running televised English news program in Taiwa

n and has been honored on multiple occasions, including winning the 2009 Foundation of Excellent Journalism Award for Best News Program. The Foundation also nominated anchor Jinny Chang in its Best News Presenter category in 2006, and the Ministry of the Interior chose the program as one of Taiwan's top 26 TV shows in 2006. on FTV Taiwan, channel 152.

Taiwan’s top university, National Taiwan University held its 2026 commencement ceremonies on Saturday. The highlight of the event was none other than the moving speech made by a PhD student named Nathan from Tanzania. Long before a PhD in environmental engineering, he was a gifted kid who grew up in poverty. A chance encounter with the late Dr. Jane Goodall changed his life, allowing him to go to boarding school and eventually come to Taiwan. He says that his dream is to build a school in his hometown, so that kids like him could also turn their life around through education.

A close call in Tainan, where a scooter slipped off a tow truck's nearly 2-meter-high platform after allegedly not being secured properly, crashing straight onto the road when the driver braked. Luckily, no riders or pedestrians were nearby, but shocked locals called the scene "ridiculous" and warned it could have caused a serious accident. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang may have just dropped the hottest food guide in Taipei. During his headline-grabbing keynote at the Nvidia GTC Taipei 2026 at the Taipei Music Center, eagle-eyed fans spotted something hilarious hidden in the massive backdrop behind the AI godfather. Alongside tech giants and supply-chain partners were several of Huang’s favorite local eateries, personally stamped with his approval. Since Huang’s presentations are famously treated like treasure maps by investors hunting stock clues, the internet couldn’t stop joking that those were the eateries supplying him.

The scorching summer heat has gotten even sheep begging for AC! Visitors at a small petting zoo in Nantou were treated to an unexpectedly adorable sight after spotting a flock of sheep packed tightly in front of a giant cooling fan and refusing to budge.
