把一株即將開花的植物整株倒過來，浸入充滿農桿菌的溶液裡，幾週後就能從種子中篩選出轉殖後代，這種經典植物基因轉殖技術被稱為「花浸法（floral dip）」，但植物可沒那麼乖乖配合🌱

植微所研究團隊發現，植物其實會啟動免疫系統抵抗農桿菌，因此「感染的時間點」相當關鍵。研究顯示，在接種後5至9天開放的花朵才會產生轉殖成功的子代，其中在第6天達到高峰📈！然而轉殖效率越高，部分胚珠卻可能停止發育，無法形成成熟種子。

這項研究揭開了植物免疫、發育節奏與基因工程之間的微妙拉鋸戰，也讓我們重新理解：基因改造不只是技術，更是在「配合植物的時機」。🌼

Turning a plant inflorescence upside down and dipping it into an Agrobacterium solution may sound unusual, but this classic technique, known as the floral dip method, is widely used for plant genetic transformation 🌱

A research team at IPMB discovered that plants activate immune responses against Agrobacterium, making the timing of infection critically important. Only flowers opening at 5-9 days post inoculation (DPI) produced transformed progeny, with peak efficiency occurring on day 6. 📈 However, higher transformation efficiency also came with increased ovule abortion.

This study highlights the delicate balance among plant immunity, developmental timing, and genetic engineering.🌼
