At the inaugural Canada Investment Summit, investors from nearly 30 countries came to Toronto to invest in Canada.

The Summit laid the foundation for enormous new investment and strategic partnerships while accelerating existing negotiations – resulting in nearly $500 billion in new investment commitments to Canada.

🌍✨ Today we were delighted to join the Global Cooperation and Training Framework (GCTF) Energy Resilience Workshop, co organized by Australia and Taiwan’s Ministry of Environment.

With speakers and participants from 28 countries, the workshop brought together diverse perspectives on strengthening global energy resilience and advancing sustainability.

It was inspiring to see so many experts, policymakers, and innovators come together to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and deepen international cooperation for a cleaner, more resilient future. 💡🤝🌱

雙方就台灣當前的政策重點、能源與永續發展的未來方向，以及如何進一步深化加台雙邊貿易與民間交流等議題交換意見。

今天的討論充分反映出雙方都高度重視維持加台關係的堅實與活力!

CTOT Executive Director Marie Louise Hannan met today with Taiwan People's Party (TPP) Chair Huang Kuo-chang for a friendly and wide ranging conversation.

They exchanged views on Taiwan’s evolving policy priorities, Taiwan’s energy landscape, and opportunities to deepen Canada-Taiwan trade and people to people ties.

Today's discussion reflected the depth of interest on both sides in maintaining a strong and dynamic Canada-Taiwan relationship.

加拿大魁團黨國會議員訪問團拜會駐台北加拿大辦事處

今天，駐台北加拿大辦事處（CTOT）很榮幸接待 加拿大魁團黨國會議員訪問團。值得一提的是，這是魁團黨自 1991 年成立以來首次組團訪問臺灣，具有重要的歷史意義。

雙方就加台合作、民主韌性、經貿交流，以及魁北克與臺灣之間的互動機會進行深入討論。CTOT期待與魁團黨持續保持交流，共同推動加台關係向前邁進。

CTOT Welcomes a Parliamentary Delegation from the Bloc Québécois

The Canadian Trade Office in Taipei (CTOT) was pleased to welcome a parliamentary delegation from the Bloc Québécois today — marking the party’s first official delegation visit to Taiwan since its founding in 1991.

The delegation and the CTOT team exchanged views on Canada-Taiwan cooperation, economic ties, democratic resilience and opportunities for deeper engagement between Quebec and Taiwan. We look forward to continued dialogue and collaboration.

加拿大電影 #100個落日（100 Sunset）將於本週五（9月11日）在臺北為 #2026世界民族電影節揭開序幕。本屆影展以「遇見世界」為主題，將在臺北、臺中、嘉義、高雄及花蓮放映22部電影，共計60場免費放映。五大單元透過不同族群的文化與生命經驗，帶領觀眾看見衝突、遷徙與離散，也探索成長、身分認同與生命告別等議題。

#100個落日 是加拿大導演昆桑吉榮（Kunsang Kyirong）的首部劇情長片。故事發生在多倫多Parkdale的「小西藏」——亞洲以外規模最大的藏人社區之一。女主角昆瑟與祖母同住；在遇見新搬來的帕桑後，兩人開始渴望逃離受限的日常生活。本片於2025年多倫多國際影展舉行世界首映，並獲「最佳加拿大發現獎」特別提及。電影以藏語及英語呈現，帶來加拿大電影中難得一見的藏裔加拿大人生活樣貌，也映照出今日加拿大多元的社群、語言與文化歷史。

Canadian film 100 Sunset will open the 2026 World Ethnic Film Festival in Taipei this Friday, September 11. Under the theme “Meet the World,” this year’s festival presents 22 films through 60 free screenings in Taipei, Taichung, Chiayi, Kaohsiung and Hualien. Its five programmes explore the cultures and experiences of different communities—from conflict, migration and displacement to childhood, identity and saying goodbye.

The debut feature of Canadian filmmaker Kunsang Kyirong, 100 Sunset is set in Parkdale, Toronto’s “Little Tibet,” one of the largest Tibetan communities outside Asia. It follows Kunsel, a young woman living with her grandmother, whose encounter with a newcomer named Passang awakens a shared desire to escape the limits of their everyday lives. Premiered at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, where it received an Honourable Mention for Best Canadian Discovery, the film offers a rare portrait of Tibetan Canadian life. Told in Tibetan and English, it reflects the many communities, languages and cultural histories that are part of Canada today.

Last week, CTOT Executive Director, Marie-Louise Hannan, attended the "Quantum Taiwan Forum" at SEMICON Taiwan 2026! ✨

At the forum, Ms. Hannan exchanged with speakers from two pioneering Canadian quantum firms, D-Wave and Xanadu Quantum, on Canada-Taiwan collaboration opportunities in this busy sector.

Research indicates that semiconductor and quantum technologies are bound to converge in the not-so-distant future. We look forward to expanding our cooperation with Taiwan’s semiconductor industry to create more win-win quantum opportunities! 🚀

For Taiwan 2026, we have two companies, two application firms, three software providers, and seven semiconductor processing and innovators attending SEMICON Taiwan to expand collaborations with Taiwanese tech industry.

Our Executive Director, Marie-Louise Hannan, attended the SEMICON Taiwan 2026 Opening Ceremony this morning. Together with "Jing Jing," we invite Taiwan’s semiconductor, AI, High-Performance Computing (HPC), optoelectronics, equipment and materials, packaging and testing, and venture capital professionals to visit the "Ontario, Canada Pavilion" (Booth -6158) on the first floor of TaiNEX 2, to explore opportunities for the next wave of global semiconductor collaborations!

2026 #泰瑞法克斯慈善公益路跑 將在秋天回歸台北!!

泰瑞法克斯Terry Fox 是加拿大最具代表性的勇氣象徵，他以「希望」與「行動」激勵全球超過 60 個國家響應公益路跑。今年，由新北市 TCS 探索未來國際實驗教育機構在台灣主辦的活動已邁入第四屆，持續以行動支持癌症研究。

今年的路跑將於 10 月 17 日（六）下午 4 點在 美堤河濱公園起跑，首次推出台灣的 #星光路跑體驗。迎著傍晚微風、伴隨夕陽與城市光影，無論您選擇跑步、健走，或陪伴家人一起完成賽程，每一步都象徵著延續泰瑞法克斯永不放棄的精神。

The Terry Fox Run returns to Taipei this fall!

Inspired by Canadian hero Terry Fox, this global charity run engages communities in more than 60 countries to support cancer research and celebrate courage, hope, and collective action. Since 2023, TCS International Experimental Education Institute has brought the Terry Fox Run to Taiwan, now entering its fourth year.

This year’s run will take place on Saturday, October 17, at Meiti Riverside Park, starting at 4:00 p.m., featuring Taiwan’s first Sunset Run experience. Whether you run, walk, or join with family and friends, every step carries forward Terry Fox’s spirit of perseverance.

The event is donation based with no registration fee, and all proceeds—after essential costs—will be donated to the Taiwan Cancer Foundation.

Yesterday, the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei was pleased to join MOFA and colleagues from other foreign offices for the Zhongyuan Pudu ceremony, experiencing an important part of Taiwan’s folk culture. Canada contributed maple syrup, a symbol of our natural heritage, adding a warm and multicultural touch to the offering table alongside items from other participating nations. 🍁
