今天（5月9日）是歐洲日，在這一天我們慶祝歐洲的和平與團結。
1950年5月9日是具有歷史意義的《舒曼宣言》發表日。該宣言提出建立歐洲新型政治合作模式的構想，旨在使歐洲各國之間的戰爭成為不可想像。

上週，本處與其他歐洲駐台機構的同仁一起參訪了內政部消防署位於南投的訓練中心。在這座設備完善、令人印象深刻的訓練場地中，消防署同仁不僅協助我們複習急救技能，亦讓我們近距離、安全地體驗各項安全訓練。誠摯感謝內政部消防署的熱情接待與專業分享！👩‍🚒👨‍🚒

Last week our office visited, together with officers from other European representations, the National Fire Agency (NFA)’s training center in Nantou. In this impressive set-up, NFA took the time to refresh our first aid skills, and let us experience for safety up close. Grateful for NFAs hospitality! 👩‍🚒👨‍🚒

Every year on 30 April is the International Jazz Day 🎶, proclaimed by UNESCO to celebrate the power of jazz as a force for peace, dialogue and mutual understanding around the world.
And when it comes to jazz, Belgium not only plays along but has helped create the melody.

Do you know that saxophone, one of the most iconic sounds in jazz, was invented in Dinant, Belgium by Adolphe Sax? 🎷

Hello Belgium! Unlocking the Secrets of the Brain 😃🧠🇧🇪
Looking for a fun weekend activity for kids?
Come visit the National Taiwan Science Education Center and join this free, family-friendly special exhibition that brings together neuroscience and Belgian culture!

The venue will transform into a lively “Belgian Town,” featuring mind bending visual illusions from Brussels’ World of Mind Museum, stamp-collecting challenge activities with Belgian waffle rewards, and a joyful taste of dopamine magic. Through interactive experiences, children and families will explore neuroscience while learning empathy and understanding for the challenges faced by people living with neurological and immunological conditions.

The event is co-organized by Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital, National Taiwan Science Education Center, Belgian Office, Taipei, and UCB Taiwan. We warmly invite families of all ages to enjoy the engaging, educational, and multi-sensory Belgian science getaway!

4月25日，比利時台北辦事處很榮幸在由 澳洲駐台辦事處 Australian Office in Taipei與 紐西蘭商工辦事處 New Zealand Commerce and Industry Office Taipei所舉辦的 #澳紐軍團日 (ANZAC Day) 紀念儀式中獻上花圈。

這個莊嚴的活動旨在緬懷於第一次世界大戰期間在澳洲與紐西蘭軍團服役的英勇將士，以及他們所作出的重大犧牲。
對比利時而言，追思紀念是我們民族認同的基石。透過銘記過去，我們向那些為自由與和平奮鬥的人們致敬。🌺

On 25 April, the Belgian Office, Taipei had the honor of laying a wreath during the ANZAC Day remembrance ceremony organized by the 澳洲駐台辦事處 Australian Office in Taipei and the 紐西蘭商工辦事處 New Zealand Commerce and Industry Office Taipei.
This solemn event commemorates the bravery and sacrifice of those who served in the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps during World War I.

For Belgium, remembrance is a cornerstone of our national identity. It is through remembering the past that we honor the courage of those who fought for freedom and peace. The shared history and values between Belgium and the ANZAC nations remind us of the importance of unity and resilience.

As the Last Post sounds and after a recital of 'In Flanders Fields', we stand together in reflection and gratitude, ensuring that the legacy of those who served lives on. 🌺

在 臺北市立美術館 Taipei Fine Arts Museum 展出的「超現實主義：對話中的世界（Surrealism: Worlds in Dialogue）」，邀請觀眾走入一個如夢似幻的世界，在那裡，現實受到質疑，想像力成為主導。

在眾多展覽亮點中，千萬別錯過比利時大師雷內・馬格利特（René Magritte）的創作。他以經典而富辨識度的意象，將平凡轉化為神祕。透過含蓄的幽默與深刻的哲學思考，其作品提醒我們，眼睛看見的，不一定是真實。

氫能被視為實現氣候中和未來的關鍵動能，比利時持續積極投入，並致力於在國際氫能發展中發揮引領作用。

在多方推動者的共同努力下，安特衛普－布魯日港正穩健布局，朝向成為歐洲主要的綠色氫能進口樞紐邁進；同時，Fluxys亦積極建構連結再生能源資源豐沛地區與比利時及歐洲的全球氫能網絡。
相關行動不僅有助於強化國際氫能價值鏈，亦為產業界的脫碳轉型提供重要支持。

在策略層面，比利時氫能委員會（Belgian Hydrogen Council）匯聚產、官、學界力量，推動協調一致的氫能發展願景，加速比利時邁向具韌性且永續的氫能經濟。

此次拜會台灣氫能與燃料電池夥伴聯盟（THFCP），我們有機會深入了解台灣在氫能領域的發展經驗，進行意見交流，並探討未來合作契機。展望未來，期盼持續深化對話與夥伴關係，攜手推動國際合作，共同邁向以氫能為基礎、實現氣候中和的永續未來。

Hydrogen is a key driver of a climate‑neutral future, and Belgium is taking a leading role.

Among other key players, the Port of Antwerp‑Bruges is positioning itself as a major European import hub for green hydrogen while Fluxys is building a global hydrogen network that links renewable‑rich regions to Belgium and Europe.
Together, these efforts are strengthening international value chains and supporting industry in its decarbonization journey.

At the strategic level, the Belgian Hydrogen Council brings together public authorities, industry, and research institutions to shape a coherent vision for hydrogen development and accelerate Belgium’s transition to a sustainable hydrogen economy.

During our recent visit to the Taiwan Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Partnership, we had the opportunity to learn from Taiwan’s experience, exchange insights and explore synergies.
We look forward to continued dialogue and future collaboration to move forward to a hydrogen‑ready and climate‑neutral future.

本週，我們非常榮幸迎接Paul Servais 教授來訪，並於處長官邸舉辦了一場小型歡迎晚宴。

Paul Servais教授為比利時新魯汶大學（UCLouvain）名譽教授，是傑出的比利時歷史學家，同時也是推動比利時與台灣學術合作的先驅。他長期透過合作夥伴關係、協同授課計畫、聯合研究及教師交流等方式，與台灣各大學建立緊密連結，成為雙邊學術界之間的重要橋樑。

當晚活動亦因比利時指揮家Rik Ghesquière帶來的精彩音樂演出而更加豐富動人。

我們很高興能夠邀請各界好友與合作夥伴齊聚一堂，共同慶祝比利時與台灣之間穩固且長久的學術合作與交流。

This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Professor Paul Servais for a visit marked by a small reception at the Belgian Residence.

Professor Emeritus at UCLouvain, Professor Servais is a distinguished Belgian historian and a pioneer in strengthening academic cooperation between Belgium and Taiwan. Through long‑term partnerships, co‑teaching programs, joint research, and faculty exchanges with Taiwanese universities, he has served as a vital bridge between the two academic communities.

The evening was further enriched by a wonderful musical performance by Belgian conductor Rik Ghesquière.

We were delighted to bring together friends and partners for this meaningful exchange, celebrating the strong and enduring academic ties between Belgium and Taiwan.
