VISIT TO MFTC’S TOURISM DIVISION

24 August 2026 – Mr. B**g Yik Jui, President of the Malaysian Friendship and Trade Centre, Taipei (MFTC), visited MFTC’s Tourism Division, where he received a briefing from the Director of Tourism, Mr. Hafiz Hazin, and had the opportunity to meet and engage with the Division’s staff.

WITSA GLOBAL AI SUMMIT

1 September 2026 – Mr. B**g Yik Jui, President of the Malaysian Friendship and Trade Centre, Taipei (MFTC), attended the WITSA Global AI Summit, held at the Grand Hotel Taipei, under the theme “AI Alive, Beyond the Future”.

The event was organised by the World Innovation, Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) and the Taiwan Innovative Software and Services Association (TISA).

STARTSPHERE TAIPEI 2026

3 September 2026 – The Malaysian Friendship and Trade Centre, Taipei (MFTC) attended the opening ceremony of StartSphere Taipei 2026, organised by the Department of Economic Development, Taipei City Government. The event, held under the theme “Beyond Limits, Prompt the Future”, was officiated by Taipei City Mayor Chiang Wan-an.

ENGAGEMENT WITH SARAWAK DIGITAL ECONOMY CORPORATION

1 September 2026 – The Malaysian Friendship and Trade Centre, Taipei (MFTC) had an engagement with a delegation from the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC), led by its Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Ir. Ts. Sudarnoto Osman.

Dato’ Sudarnoto was accompanied by Dr. Khairul Hafiz Sharkawi, Vice President of Technological Research and Adoption; Ms. Antionette Goh, Head of Research and Product Development; and Ms. Lai Siaw Feng, Senior Executive of Product Development.

MFTC appreciates the exchange of views and looks forward to future collaboration.

MALAYSIAN BABA NYONYA CULTURAL FESTIVAL

23 August 2026 – The Malaysian Friendship and Trade Centre, Taipei (MFTC) had the honour of joining the “Malaysian Baba Nyonya Cultural Festival” at the Taoyuan Hutoushan Innovation Park, organised by the Taoyuan City Malaysian Culture Association with the support of the Department of Women and Children Development, Taoyuan City Government.

Mr. B**g Yik Jui, President of MFTC, delivered remarks at the festival, alongside Ms. Tu Tzu-jung, Director-General of the Department of Women and Children Development, Taoyuan City Government, and Ms. Tan Sing Yee, Chair of the Taoyuan City Malaysian Culture Association.

MFTC extends its appreciation to the organisers and all those involved for making the festival a meaningful opportunity to showcase and share Malaysia’s rich and diverse cultural heritage here in Taiwan.

COMMERCIAL TIMES: MALAYSIA ACCELERATES SMART MANUFACTURING DEVELOPMENT

The Malaysian Friendship and Trade Centre, Taipei (MFTC) programme, “EcoInvest Nexus: Smart Industry Connect+”, held on 20 August 2026, was featured in Commercial Times on 27 August 2026, highlighting Malaysia’s diverse investment opportunities and growing smart manufacturing ecosystem.

20 August 2026 – The Malaysian Friendship and Trade Centre, Taipei (MFTC) organised the “EcoInvest Nexus: Smart Industry Connect+” at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Centre (TaiNEX 1).

The programme was co-organised with the Department of Investment Promotion (DOIP), Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and the Taiwan Automation Intelligence and Robotics Association (TAIROA), with the support of six (6) strategic partners: EcoWorld Industrial Platform, Gamuda Land – Silicon Island, OCBC Bank, Penang Technology Park @ Bertam, SPD Tech Valley, and Malaysia Airlines.

MFTC extends its appreciation to all co-organisers, strategic partners and participants for their support and participation in making the programme a success.

18 August 2026 – The Malaysian Friendship and Trade Centre, Taipei (MFTC) held a Welcome Ceremony in honour of Mr. B**g Yik Jui, the newly appointed President of MFTC, following his arrival in Taipei on 17 August 2026. MFTC extends its warmest welcome and sincere congratulations to Mr. B**g on his appointment, and looks forward to the privilege of serving under his leadership.
