本屆工作坊由國際知名譯者Jeremy Tiang及資深編輯Dennis Zhou擔任雙導師,並特別邀請作家利格拉樂・阿女烏,及來自世界各國的資深譯者、學者與出版人共同參與。透過多元課程、專題講座、文本討論與文化走讀,帶領學員深入瞭解臺灣文學翻譯與出版現況,親身感受臺灣文學與文化之美。

A Symphony of Island and Literature: 2026 Workshop for Translating Taiwan Literature

Time flies. The application deadline (June 21, 2026) for “A Symphony of Island and Literature: 2026 Workshop for Translating Taiwan Literature” is fast approaching. Have all you passionate translators of Taiwan Literature submitted your applications?
This year’s workshop will be mentored by the internationally acclaimed translator, Jeremy Tiang, and senior editor, Dennis Zhou. The two mentors will be joined by the Taiwanese writer, Liglav A-wu, and a group of experienced international translators, scholars, and publishing professionals. The diverse course programs — practical sessions, expert talks, and visits and walks to places of cultural and literary interests — will help translators gain insights into the current state of Taiwan Literature translation and its publication and immerse themselves in the beauty of Taiwan’s literature and culture.
Key features of the workshop:
Meeting the Author: Liglav A-wu will be present at the workshop to share her creative vision and translated work. She will discuss how she uses her writing to document Taiwan’s indigenous rights movements, history, and advocate for indigenous women.
International exchange and expert talks on literary translation practice and publishing. Expert speakers include Jeremy Tiang (Singapore), Dennis Zhou (U.S.A.), Anna Goode (U.K.), Yamaguchi Mamoru (Japan), Heo Yu-young (Korea), and Rauno Sainio (Finland).
Cultural and Literary Walks: Feel the literary pulse of Taiwan and immerse yourself in the cultural contexts of Tainan, the first capital of Taiwan, and its neighbouring towns to draw inspiration for translation.

◆ Selection Results: Successful applicants will be notified via email by August 31, 2026.
