The original Pratas Great King Temple was destroyed in the early 20th century during the Japanese occupation, leaving the identity of its original deity unknown. In the winter of 1948, a statue of Guan Gong (the God of War) drifted ashore on a dugout canoe. Miraculously, the statue remained completely bone-dry despite traveling across the sea. The Marines stationed on the island at the time built a temple to enshrine the deity, retaining the name "Pratas Great King Temple" and regarding Guan Gong as the patron saint of the Pratas Islands. To this day, the original dugout canoe is still preserved beside the temple.
Currently, the temple enshrines a diverse pantheon of deities, including:
The Founding Great King (Kaiji Dawang)、Marshal of the Central Altar (Nezha)、Guan Ping and Zhou Cang (Attendants of Guan Gong)、Guanyin Bodhisattva (Goddess of Mercy)、Mazu (Goddess of the Sea, including the Chaoyuan Palace and Black-faced versions)、Five Command Flags (Representing the celestial soldiers of the five camps)、Lord Tiger (Hu Ye)、Dragon Boat and the Elder of the Crabapple Tree (Haitang Shugong)、Tudigong (The Earth God)、The National Revolutionary Army Dongsha Cemetery.
