IUCN (Uluslararası Doğa Koruma Birliği) Pina'ların (Pinna nobilis) durumunu "tehlike altında"dan "nesli tükenmek üzere"ye yükseltti. Pina'lar Akdeniz'e endemik, deniz suyunu süzüp suyun sağlıklı kalmasını sağlayan yumuşakcalar. Üzerlerinde yaşayan canlılar sayesinde birer biyoçeşitlilik adacığı gibiler. Pina'lar, yine Akdeniz'e endemik Deniz Çayırları (Posidonia oceanica) ile berabar var oluyorlar ve birlikte denizde öbür canlıların da var olabilmesini sağlıyorlar. Denizin sağlıklı olması, karadakilerin de alacak nefes bulması, temiz hava soluması demek. Bunu Küdür'de de gözlemleyebiliyoruz. Deniz Çayırları'nın kıyılarında bol ve sağlıklı bulunduğu Küdür'ün kara tarafında da Liken'leri bolca görmek tesadüf değil. Likenler de temiz hava indikatörleri. Ekteki linkte bulunan metni ve haritaları incelerseniz, Bodrum yarımadasında hala Pina'ların varlığını sürdürebildiğini görebilirsiniz. Denizlerimize yapılacak her tür müdahaleyi durdurmak, bertaraf etmek zorundayız. Deniz sağlıklı değilse, hiç birimizin alacak nefesi olmayacak!
IUCN, just published their final report about the Noble Pen Shell (Pinna nobilis) elevating their status to "critically endangered" from "vulnerable". Noble Pen Shells are endemic molluscs to the Mediterranean and they filter sea water renderind the water healthy. They are like islets of biodiversity with other creatures living on them. Noble Pen Shells dwell with Seagrass (Posidonia oceanica) again endemic to the Mediterranean and together they make it possible that other creatures can live in the sea. Sea being healthy means the ones on land can find fresh air to breathe too. We can observe this in Küdür. Having large and healthy populations of Seagrass on its shores, it is no coincidence that land side of Küdür is also very rich in Lichen populations. Lichens are also indicators of good fresh air. If you go through the text and maps on the link below, you may see that Noble Pen Shells are still alive around Bodrum Peninsula. We have to stop any intervention to our seas. If the sea is not healthy, none of us will find air to breathe!
