Ambassador’s call on the TIKA Chairman, Mr. Abdullah Eren

Bangladesh Ambassador to Türkiye, Mr. M. Amanul Haq, made a courtesy call on the Chairman of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), Mr. Abdullah Eren, at his office in Ankara. The Ambassador of Bangladesh, at the outset, congratulated Mr. Eren on assuming the role of Chairman of TIKA and wished him every success in his new responsibilities. The Ambassador said that the long-standing collaboration between Bangladesh and TIKA is reflected in the vast range of significant initiatives that the agency has been implementing across several sectors in Bangladesh since its founding there in 2014.
The Ambassador further underlined Bangladesh’s impressive socio-economic progress and its desire to attain upper-middle-income status. In this respect, he urged TIKA to enhance its engagement in Bangladesh within a formal structure and long-term process of cooperation. He highlighted the health industry as a possible area for cooperation. He called on TİKA to take steps to improve healthcare services and facilities for Bangladesh's general population on a larger scale. The Ambassador also highlighted areas for collaboration in technical capacity building, vocational training, digital transformation, renewable energy, and community-based development projects.

In his answer, Chairman Abdullah Eren praised Bangladesh's remarkable development achievements and reiterated TİKA’s commitment to supporting the country's development priorities. Bangladesh has significant human and economic potential, and greater access to technology, technical know-how, institutional capacity, and information sharing could further boost the country’s sustained progress, he said. Mr. Eren said TIKA is ready to assist in these efforts and stressed that the Agency is now undergoing a detailed evaluation of possible areas of cooperation in Bangladesh, and that, following this evaluation, a roadmap for future projects and initiatives will be prepared.
The conversations took place in a pleasant, amicable setting, reflecting the strong relations between Bangladesh and Türkiye.

The Embassy of Bangladesh in ankara is pleased to inform you that the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh is preparing a comprehensive database of Non-Resident Bangladeshi (NRB) professionals (including scientists, engineers, academics, and industrial experts) under its Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP).

Furthermore, a Diaspora Policy is also being developed by the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to better engage skilled Bangladeshi professionals abroad in advancing Bangladesh’s national development, industrial transformation and knowledge-driven growth.

In this regard, interested community members living in Türkiye, Azerbaijan and Georgia are requested to share their information by scanning the QR Code (to access the Google Drive Doc file) or in the following format to [email protected] or by 15 June 2026.

H.E. Hakan Fidan, the Hon’ble Foreign Minister of Türkiye, reached Dhaka today for a three-day official visit. He was received at the Airport by H.E. Dr. Kahlilur Rahman, Hon’ble Foreign Minister of Bangladesh. Her Excellency Shama Obaed Islam, Hon’ble State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh; H.E. Humaiun Kobir, Hon’ble Foreign Adviser to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh; and H.E. M. Amanul Haq, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Türkiye were also present at the Airport to welcome the Turkish Foreign Minister.

Congratulations to our Hon’ble Foreign Minister, H.E. Dr. Khalilur Rahman, on being elected as the President of the 81st UN General Assembly session. This milestone highlights Bangladesh’s growing international acceptance and trust under the able leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister H.E. Tarique Rahman. We believe that during the one year tenure of Bangladesh's Foreign Minister's presidency- dialogue, connectivity, and cooperation to tackle global challenges will be solidified. We wish him great success in this important role.
