and related social sciences. Founded in 1947, the BIAA was incorporated in the 1956
cultural agreement between the Republic of Turkey and
the United Kingdom. The BIAA has offices in Ankara and
London, and a dedicated staff of experts from a wide
variety of academic and cultural backgrounds.

🚨 ANKARA WORKSHOP: Philosophy in the Roman Mediterranean

From 4th – 10th June 2026, the BIAA will host the “Philosophy in the Roman Period” workshop, the culminating event of the project of the same name led by Prof George Boys-Stones (University of Toronto) and Dr Matthias Haake (Universität Bonn). The workshop seeks to establish a new and more inclusive basis for a philosophical history of the period from 100 BCE to 200 CE.
