The Embassy of Malta in Tunisia is proud to announce the official launch of the Tunisio – Maltese chamber of Commerce which is the fruit of long-standing historic and economic relations between the two countries based on geographical and linguistic proximity.
This partnership constitutes a space for exchange and a promising opportunity for Tunisian businessmen to strengthen their presence in the Maltese market that is positioning itself as Europe’s gateway and a stepping stone for Maltese investors to gain access to the African market.
The Chamber’s administrative committee is chaired by Dr Touhami Abdaouli. Mr Souheil Doudou serves as Secretary-General and the post of Treasurer is held by Mr Walid Hajri .

The Maltese Government is offering a scholarship for Masters to Tunisian nationals.
Candidates can choose a field of study among the following list of eligible full-time courses (taught or by research) :

- MSc in Sustainable Energy (Research)
- MSc in Geosciences (Research)
- MA in Humanitarian Action ( Professional).
Preference shall be given to candidates who wish to undertake research for their dissertation in any of the following areas: women / children, women / children in conflict zones and sustainability.
- MSc Physics (Research)
Areas of research: Quantum, Space Sciences and Electromagnetics focusing on the priority areas of water and / or sustainability.
Interested applicants are required to apply for the course and would need to apply for the scholarship as per below.
Applicants are invited to submit their applications by email to the International Office of the University of Malta at the following address: [email protected] by 10 June 2026.

On 28 April 2026, H.E. Dr Joseph Sammut, Ambassador of Malta to Tunisia attended the 9th edition of the Financing Investment and Trade in Africa (FITA 2026) conference taking place in Tunis from April 28–29, 2026. This major economic two-day event, organised by the Tunisia Africa Business Council (TABC) under the theme "African Value Chains: Developing Strategic Levers for the Transformation of the Continent' brings together policymakers, investors, and entrepreneurs from more than 70 countries and aims to facilitate intra-African investment and enhance trade connectivity across the continent.
The programme covers strategic panels, high-level meetings and networking events confirming Tunisia’s role as a regional hub for cooperation and investment.

On 15 April 2026 and within the framework of strengthening economic relations between Tunisia and Malta, H.E. Dr Joseph M. Sammut, Ambassador of Malta to Tunisia paid a courtesy call to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Centre- CCIC-, where he was warmly welcomed by the president of the CCIC Mr Nejib Mellouli.
Discussions focused on the preparations for the Tunisian trade mission that will be organised by the CCIC in Malta from 14 to 17 June 2026.
His Excellency the Ambassador of Malta expressed his full support for this initiative and reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to supporting the CCIC in ensuring the success of this mission as a key step towards boosting trade and fostering partnerships between economic operators in both countries.
