What a treat! Our Embassy's team, including Laurent, Massupa, Camille and Frederique, joined as jury members for Restaurant Street Wars, season 3, episode 10. 🎉 What a warm welcome! Just one week after his arrival, Deputy Head of Mission Christophe Cardon was delighted to be invited as a "Friend of Bangkok" at the recent reception at Lumphini Hall.

The "Friends of Bangkok" event, hosted by Governor Chadchart Sittipunt and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), brought together the diplomatic community to share BMA’s vision for transforming Bangkok into a green, smart, and livable "City of Opportunity and Hope."

The journey there was special in itself - Christophe even passed right under the iconic Thai-Belgian Bridge on his way to the venue, a great reminder of the deep ties between our two nations! To top off the evening, he got to experience his very first typical Thai show, complete with vibrant dragon performances, dancers, and live music. 🐲🎶

Looking ahead, we are super excited to collaborate with BMA again later this year for the "Safe Journey with Her" bike event! BMA gave us tremendous support when Belgium took the lead last year, and we can’t wait to join forces with them once more as our colleagues at the Embassy of Luxembourg take the lead this time around. 🚴‍♀️🇧🇪🇱🇺🇹🇭

On this International Day, we remember the victims of terrorism worldwide and stand in solidarity with all those affected by these acts of violence.
Belgium remains committed to justice, recognition and the protection of human life.

👋Meet Our New Team Member: Christophe – Deputy Head of Mission.

We are very pleased to welcome Christophe Cardon, the new Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in Bangkok!

In this new role, Christophe will contribute to strengthening the longstanding and close political relations between Belgium and Thailand as well as Belgium and Cambodia, among other things.

We look forward to working together and benefiting from Christophe’s experience and expertise, acquired in New York at the United Nations, Kigali, Shanghai, and the European Union.

We warmly Christophe and his family to Bangkok and wish him every success in this new position!

This year’s UN theme, ‘Different Contexts, Common Aspirations’, reminds us that while young people’s realities vary widely around the world, their aspirations for dignity, education, decent work and a meaningful say in their future are shared – with particular attention this year to youth in Least Developed, Landlocked Developing and Small Island Developing States.
