PTIC Bangkok and Thailand-Philippines Business Council Strengthen Trade and Investment Cooperation Following July Mission

PTIC Bangkok met with the Chairman and members of the Thailand-Philippines Business Council at the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) on 10 August 2026, following the Council’s recently concluded business mission to the Philippines in July.

Mr. Chernporn Tengamnuay, Chairman of the Thailand-Philippines Business Council and Vice President of the Federation of Thai Industries was joined by representatives from the Thailand Chamber of Commerce and the Thai Bankers Association.

The meeting provided an opportunity to follow up on the mission and exchange views on potential areas for further Thailand-Philippines business and investment cooperation, particularly in renewable energy, agriculture, healthcare and wellness, startups, and other emerging sectors.

PTIC Bangkok looks forward to continuing its collaboration with the Council and its members to help translate these discussions into concrete business opportunities and strengthen the growing economic partnership between the Philippines and Thailand.

PTIC-Bangkok Continues to Support Philippine Startups at the Japan-ASEAN Startup Business Matching Fair 2026

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Bangkok (PTIC-Bangkok), reaffirmed its commitment to advancing Philippine innovation by supporting the country's participation in the Japan-ASEAN Startup Business Matching Fair 2026, held on 2 July 2026 at the Siam Kempinski Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand.

The event formed part of the strategic collaboration under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in January 2025 among the Department of Trade and Industry – Competitiveness and Innovation Group (DTI-CIG), Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), Bank of Ayudhya PCL (Krungsri), Krungsri Finnovate Company Limited, and Security Bank Corporation. The MoU aims to strengthen economic and trade cooperation among the participating countries by promoting startups and facilitating business matching in international markets.

The participating Philippine companies were AIMHI, DIWA AI Philippines Inc., and SeeYouDoc, which operate in the fields of Construction Technology, AI-powered research and insights, and Health Technology, highlighting the country’s growing startup ecosystem. In addition to business matching activities, PTIC-Bangkok also provided market-entry guidance to the participating startups, sharing insights on the Thai business environment and emphasizing the importance of localising their products and services to align with Thai consumer behaviour, user preferences, and market requirements.

Through PTIC-Bangkok’s support for the initiative, DTI continues to strengthen the global competitiveness of Philippine startups by facilitating strategic partnerships, expanding market access, and creating opportunities for innovation-driven enterprises to establish a stronger presence in the ASEAN region.

THE PHILIPPINES SHOWCASES MEDICAL AND WELLNESS OPPORTUNITIES AT THE INTERNATIONAL HEALTHCARE WEEK 2026 IN THAILAND

BANGKOK, 10 JULY 2026 - Championing the Philippines’ healthcare, wellness and medical tourism sector, the Philippines launched a Business Hub at the International Healthcare Week 2026 (IHW 2026) at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) in Bangkok, Thailand, on 8-10 July 2026.

Established through a partnership between key government agencies and private companies, which included the Department of Tourism (DOT), the Department of Trade and Industry's Export Marketing Bureau (DTI-EMB), the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), the Medical Device Association of the Philippines (MDAP), and the Philippine Medical Depot (PMD), the Philippine Business Hub showcased Philippine-made medical products and equipment, and attracted foreign investments in the country’s healthcare and medical tourism industries.

Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul opened the event, which hosted 1,200 exhibitors and thousands of attendees across the pharmaceutical, medical device, laboratory, medical manufacturing, wellness, and hospital service sectors.

The event featured a combination of four (4) exhibitions, namely the Convention on Pharmaceutical Ingredients (CPHI) Southeast Asia, World Health Expo (WHX) Bangkok, MedTec Southeast Asia, and Thailand Medical Wellness Expo.

Dr. Tugbang highlighted the Philippines’ expertise in the medical sector through his participation as a featured resource speaker. His presentation centered on the wellness tourism sector, elder care in Asia, and the critical role of governments in fostering a sustainable ecosystem that supports these industries.

Day 2 at MEGA HALAL Bangkok 2026 continues to create new opportunities for Philippine food exhibitors

The FOODPhilippines booth welcomed buyers and trade visitors, driving meaningful business conversations throughout the day. Among the highlights were buyer inquiries from Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam, reflecting growing regional interest in Philippine halal-certified food products. Banana chips, snack and confectionery products, and coconut-based offerings emerged among the products drawing the strongest buyer attention, with exhibitors such as See's International Food Mfg., Inc., YanYan International Phils., Inc., and Pasciolco Agri Ventures engaging in promising discussions with prospective partners.

BOI and PTIC Bangkok Highlight the Philippines’ Growing Data Center Industry at Southeast Asia Summit

The Philippine Board of Investments (BOI), in partnership with the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) Bangkok, promoted the Philippines as an emerging destination for data center investments during the Data Center and Power Southeast Asia Summit 2026, held on 8–9 July 2026 at the Grande Centre Point Terminal 21, Bangkok, Thailand.

The summit convened key industry leaders, investors, technology providers, and policymakers to discuss the latest developments in digital infrastructure, energy resilience, and sustainable data center growth across Southeast Asia.

As part of the Philippine investment promotion program, PTIC Bangkok arranged high-level business meetings between the BOI delegation and senior executives of True Internet Data Center Company Limited and B.Grimm Data Center. The meetings served as a platform to showcase the Philippines’ competitive investment environment and discuss opportunities for collaboration in the country’s rapidly expanding digital infrastructure sector.

The Philippines offers a compelling value proposition for data center investments, supported by a strategic location in Southeast Asia, a growing digital economy, improving connectivity, a young and highly skilled workforce, and a robust pipeline of renewable energy projects. Through BOI’s investment incentives and the government’s continued push for digital transformation, the country is well-positioned to become a hub for digital infrastructure.

Competitiveness and Innovation Group (CIG) Supervising Head and Assistant Secretary Nylah Rizza D. Bautista, together with the Philippine Board of Investments Infrastructure and Services Industries Service (ISIS) Director Mary Ann Raganit, met with the head and executives of B.Grimm Power Public Company Limited (B.Grimm Power) Data Center in Bangkok, Thailand, to explore potential collaboration on data center infrastructure, renewable energy, and digital investments in support of the Philippines' competitiveness agenda and ASEAN Chairship priorities.

Organized and facilitated by the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) Bangkok, led by Commercial Counselor Ella Burgos, the meeting served as an avenue to discuss investment opportunities in data center-related infrastructure, clean energy solutions, and sustainable power systems that can support the country's growing digital economy. The discussions also highlighted B.Grimm Power's expanding renewable energy investments in the Philippines and explored opportunities to strengthen partnerships that promote reliable, sustainable, and innovation-driven infrastructure.

The delegation also engaged with key Thai government officials and industry stakeholders through the International Healthcare Week and the Thailand Character & Content Expo (TCEX) 2026, exploring opportunities that can further expand market access, innovation, and international collaboration for Philippine enterprises.
