🇹🇭 Discovering Thailand’s Cultural Heritage in Ayutthaya (English below)

เมื่อไม่นานมานี้ อุปทูต Per Linnér ได้เข้าร่วมการศึกษาดูงาน “The Legacy of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother” ซึ่งจัดโดย กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand ณ จังหวัดพระนครศรีอยุธยา

การศึกษาดูงานครั้งนี้มีเอกอัครราชทูตและผู้แทนจาก 43 ประเทศ รวมถึงสหภาพยุโรปเข้าร่วม โดยได้เยี่ยมชมพิพิธภัณฑ์ศิลป์แผ่นดิน อาคารเรียน-รู้-เรื่องโขน และสถาบันส่งเสริมศิลปหัตถกรรมไทย หรือ SACIT

นับเป็นโอกาสอันดีในการเรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับพระราชดำริและพระราชกรณียกิจของสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ตลอดจนพระราชกรณียกิจอันทรงคุณูปการในการอนุรักษ์ ส่งเสริม และพัฒนาศิลปหัตถกรรมไทยอย่างยั่งยืน 🇹🇭✨

สถานเอกอัครราชทูตสวีเดนรู้สึกเป็นเกียรติที่ได้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการศึกษาดูงานอันมีความหมายครั้งนี้ และได้ร่วมเรียนรู้และสัมผัสมรดกทางวัฒนธรรมอันทรงคุณค่าของประเทศไทย

Chargé d’affaires Per Linnér recently participated in the study visit “The Legacy of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother,” organised by the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ayutthaya.

The study visit brought together Ambassadors and representatives from 43 countries and the European Union, with visits to the Arts of the Kingdom Museum, Khon Learning Center and Sustainable Arts and Craft Institute of Thailand (SACIT).

It was a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Her Majesty’s royal initiatives and her lasting contributions to the conservation, promotion and development of Thai arts and crafts. 🇹🇭✨

We are honoured to have been part of this meaningful study visit and to explore Thailand’s rich cultural heritage.

But now Sweden’s green transition has reached another milestone in sustainable aviation. 🌱✈️

🇸🇪 Heart Aerospace, a Swedish developer of electric aircraft, has announced the successful first test flight of the X1, the largest battery-electric aircraft ever flown. During the 27-minute flight, the X1 used approximately 5 USD or 165 THB worth of electricity.

Today, Chargé d’affaires Per Linnér signed the condolence book at the Residence to honour the memory of His Majesty King Harald V of Norway.

On this solemn occasion, the Embassy of Sweden conveys its deepest condolences to the Norwegian Royal Family, the people of Norway, and the Ambassador-Designate of Norway on the passing of His Majesty. With the close bilateral relations between our nations, the Embassy joins the people of Norway in mourning this great loss.

🇸🇪 On 27 August 2026, Chargé d’affaires Per Linnér participated in a panel discussion at the Techsauce Global Summit 2026 on “Playbook of Southeast Asia’s Self-Reliance amid the Global Race” at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. 🎤🌏

💬 Together with representatives from other Embassies, the panel explored Southeast Asia’s evolving role in the global economy, including opportunities to strengthen regional cooperation, competitiveness and innovation. 🚀🤝

🌐 The discussion also touched on the region’s digital transformation, emerging opportunities, and how Southeast Asian economies can work together and with international partners to navigate a rapidly changing global landscape. 💡🌏

🤝 For Sweden, Southeast Asia is a region of growing importance. We see strong opportunities to deepen cooperation in trade and investment, innovation and digitalisation, the green transition, and peace and security. 🇸🇪🌱📈🕊️

📜 Last month, Sweden signed the Instruments of Accession to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC), ASEAN’s core treaty for peace and security and an important framework for relations among states in the region. 🌏🕊️

Books beyond bars! (English below)

สถานเอกอัครราชทูตสวีเดนประจำประเทศไทยได้เข้าร่วมโครงการที่มุ่งสนับสนุนการฟื้นฟูและการกลับคืนสู่สังคมของผู้ต้องขัง ผ่านการบริจาคหนังสือให้แก่ห้องสมุดเรือนจำกลางคลองเปรม กรุงเทพฯ เพื่อส่งเสริมการเข้าถึงความรู้ การเรียนรู้ และการพัฒนาตนเอง

ความร่วมมือระหว่างสถานเอกอัครราชทูตเยอรมนีประจำประเทศไทย สถานเอกอัครราชทูตสวีเดนประจำประเทศไทย และสถาบันเพื่อการยุติธรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (TIJ) ร่วมกับองค์กรพันธมิตรในพื้นที่อย่าง Freedom Bridge สามารถรวบรวมและบริจาคหนังสือได้มากกว่า 700 เล่ม

การเข้าถึงหนังสือมีความสำคัญต่อผู้ต้องขัง เพราะช่วยส่งเสริมการศึกษา การพัฒนาตนเอง สุขภาวะทางจิตใจ และการกลับคืนสู่สังคมได้อย่างราบรื่นและประสบความสำเร็จ

The Embassy of Sweden recently joined an initiative aiming to support prisoner rehabilitation and reintegration efforts through a donation of books to the library at Klong Prem Central Prison in Bangkok, promoting access to learning and personal development.

A collaboration between the German Embassy Bangkok, the Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok and the Thai Institute of Justice, together with the local partner organisation Freedom Bridge, resulted in over 700 books being collected and donated.

Access to books is important for prisoners because it supports education, personal development, mental well-being, and successful reintegration into society.
