On 5 September 2026, the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Thailand, together with Catholic organizations and partners, were gathered at Mater Dei School, Bangkok to mark the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi and to celebrate the Encyclical Laudato Si under the theme “Walking Together to Care for Our Common Home: Transforming Our Way of Life Together for Our Common Home.”

It was officially opened by Archbishop Peter B. Wells, Apostolic Nuncio to Thailand, who reminded those present that “the future is in our hands.” Our everyday choices — how we consume, travel, share, and care for the Earth and the poor — can make a difference. As Pope Francis reminded us, “Everything is connected.” Caring for our common home therefore begins with how we care for one another.

Together, let us transform our way of life, so that our Common Home may once again resound with the praise of the Creator. May Saint Francis intercede for us, and may the teaching of our beloved late Pope Francis strengthen our resolve.

เมื่อวันที่ 5 กันยายน ค.ศ. 2026 สภาพระสังฆราชคาทอลิกแห่งประเทศไทย พร้อมด้วยองค์กรคาทอลิกและเครือข่ายพันธมิตร ได้รวมตัวกัน ณ โรงเรียนมาแตร์เดอีวิทยาลัย กรุงเทพมหานคร เพื่อร่วมรำลึกถึงวาระครบรอบ 800 ปี มรณกรรมของนักบุญฟรังซิสแห่งอัสซีซี และสานต่อเจตนารมณ์ของพระสมณสาส์น Laudato Si’ ภายใต้หัวข้อ “ก้าวเดินไปด้วยกันเพื่อดูแลบ้านที่เรามีร่วมกัน: ร่วมเปลี่ยนวิถีชีวิตของเราเพื่อบ้านที่เราอยู่ร่วมกัน”

พิธีเปิดอย่างเป็นทางการได้รับเกียรติโดย พระอัครสังฆราชปีเตอร์ บี. เวลส์ เอกอัครสมณทูตนครรัฐวาติกันประจำประเทศไทย ซึ่งได้เตือนใจผู้เข้าร่วมงานว่า “อนาคตอยู่ในมือของเรา” สิ่งที่เราเลือกในชีวิตประจำวันของเรา ไม่ว่าจะเป็นวิธีการบริโภค การเดินทาง การแบ่งปัน รวมถึงการดูแลโลก และผู้ยากไร้ ล้วนสามารถสร้างความเปลี่ยนแปลงได้ ดังที่สมเด็จพระสันตะปาปาฟรังซิสทรงเตือนใจเราว่า “ทุกสิ่งล้วนเชื่อมโยงถึงกัน” ดังนั้น การดูแลบ้านร่วมกันของเรานั้น จึงหมายถึงการเริ่มต้นจากการดูแลซึ่งกันและกัน

ขอให้เราร่วมกันเปลี่ยนแปลงวิถีดำเนินชีวิตของเรา เพื่อให้บ้านที่เรามีร่วมกันกลับมาเปล่งเสียงสรรเสริญองค์พระผู้สร้างอีกครั้ง ขอให้นักบุญฟรังซิสช่วยวิงวอนเพื่อเรา และขอให้คำสอนของสมเด็จพระสันตะปาปาฟรังซิสผู้เป็นที่รักของเราซึ่งล่วงลับไปแล้ว เป็นพลังเสริมสร้างความมุ่งมั่นของเราในการร่วมกันดูแลบ้านที่เรามีร่วมกันให้เข้มแข็งยิ่งขึ้น

On 16 August 2026, His Excellency Archbishop Peter B. Wells presided the Opening Ceremony on the 55th Seminar of the Catholic Education Council of Thailand, an annual gathering that seeks to foster communion and collaboration, while providing opportunities to share ideas and experiences in order to strengthen the mission of Catholic Education in Thailand.

In his opening address, Archbishop Wells expressed his gratitude to all those involved in Catholic education for their service and constant dedication. He recognized their commitment as a witness to the unity and shared mission of Catholic education in Thailand, emphasizing that their efforts contribute to shaping lives and building the future of the Church, the nation and the world.

Archbishop Wells also offered a significant reflection to Catholic schools, emphasizing that they should not be viewed merely as private institutions but should remain firmly rooted in their Catholic identity. He stressed the importance of offering a clear and consistent instruction about the Catholic faith to all students and faculty, regardless of their personal faith traditions.

The Archbishop expressed his hope that the seminar would provide opportunities for deep dialogue, mutual learning, and renewed commitment enabling every Catholic school in Thailand to continue developing as a living community of faith, hope, love and education excellence.
He concluded by invoking God’s abundant blessings upon all the participants.

เมื่อวันที่ 16 สิงหาคม ค.ศ. 2026 พระอัครสมณทูต ปีเตอร์ บี. เวลส์ เป็นประธานในพิธีเปิดการสัมมนาครั้งที่ 55 ของสภาการศึกษาคาทอลิกแห่งประเทศไทย ซึ่งจัดขึ้นเป็นประจำทุกปี โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อส่งเสริมความเป็นหนึ่งเดียวและความร่วมมือ ตลอดจนเปิดโอกาสให้มีการแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นและประสบการณ์ เพื่อเสริมสร้างพันธกิจด้านการศึกษาคาทอลิกในประเทศไทยให้เข้มแข็งยิ่งขึ้น

ในคำกล่าวเปิดงาน พระอัครสมณทูตเวลส์ ได้แสดงความขอบคุณต่อทุกท่านที่มีส่วนร่วมในการจัดการศึกษาคาทอลิก สำหรับการอุทิศตนรับใช้และความทุ่มเทเสมอมา พร้อมทั้งชื่นชมความมุ่งมั่นของทุกคนในฐานะที่เป็นประจักษ์พยานถึงความเป็นหนึ่งเดียวกันและพันธกิจร่วมกันของการศึกษาคาทอลิกในประเทศไทย โดยเน้นย้ำว่า ความพยายามและการอุทิศตนของทุกท่านมีส่วนสำคัญในการหล่อหลอมชีวิตของผู้คน และมรส่วนช่วยสร้างอนาคตของพระศาสนจักร ประเทศชาติ และโลกใบนี้ให้ดียิ่งขึ้น

นอกจากนี้ ท่านยังได้แบ่งปันข้อคิดที่สำคัญแก่โรงเรียนคาทอลิก โดยเน้นย้ำว่า โรงเรียนคาทอลิกไม่ควรถูกมองว่าเป็นเพียงสถาบันการศึกษาเอกชนเท่านั้น แต่ควรยึดมั่นและคงไว้ซึ่งอัตลักษณ์ความเป็นคาทอลิกของตนอย่างมั่นคง ทั้งนี้ ท่านได้เน้นถึงความสำคัญของการจัดการเรียนการสอนเกี่ยวกับความเชื่อคาทอลิกอย่างชัดเจนและสม่ำเสมอแก่นักเรียนและบุคลากรทุกคน
โดยไม่คำนึงถึงภูมิหลังหรือแนวปฏิบัติตามความเชื่อส่วนบุคคลของพวกเขา

พระอัครสมณทูตฯ แสดงความหวังว่า การสัมมนาครั้งนี้จะเป็นโอกาสสำหรับการอภิปรายแลกเปลี่ยนในเชิงลึก การเรียนรู้ร่วมกัน และการฟื้นฟูความมุ่งมั่นในการปฏิบัติพันธกิจ เพื่อให้โรงเรียนคาทอลิกทุกแห่งในประเทศไทยสามารถพัฒนาต่อไปในฐานะชุมชนแห่งความเชื่อ ความหวัง ความรัก และความเป็นเลิศทางการศึกษาอย่างแท้จริง

On 14 August 2026, in celebration of the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, His Excellency Archbishop Peter B. Wells celebrated Holy Mass at the Chapel of St. Louis Marie de Montfort on the Suvarnabhumi Campus of Assumption University. The celebration also included the University’s traditional annual crowning ceremony in honor of Our Lady.
In his homily, Archbishop Wells reflected on the earthly vocation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, particularly on her courageous “Yes” to God’s will. He emphasized that Mary’s response led her to a life marked by suffering and sacrifice. Nevertheless, she remained steadfast in faith, becoming the greatest model of faith, the world has ever known. He further explained that this is a powerful sign of hope. It reminds us that, even amid suffering and hardship, there is always the promise of joy and the hope of eternal life.
His Excellency expressed his gratitude to the management of Assumption University for inviting him to preside over this meaningful celebration. He also imparted his blessings upon the University, praying that it may continue to be a living witness to the Gospel and an effective instrument of evangelization in Thailand.

เมื่อวันที่ 14 สิงหาคม 2569 เนื่องในโอกาสฉลองวันสมโภชพระนางมารีย์รับเกียรติยกขึ้นสวรรค์ทั้งกายและวิญญาณ พระอัครสังฆราชปีเตอร์ บี. เวลส์ ได้เป็นประธานในพิธีบูชาขอบพระคุณ ณ วัดนักบุญเซนต์หลุยส์ มารีย์ เดอ มงฟอร์ต วัดน้อยประจำมหาวิทยาลัยอัสสัมชัญ วิทยาเขตสุวรรณภูมิ การเฉลิมฉลองนี้ยังรวมถึงพิธีสวมมงกุฎประจำปีของมหาวิทยาลัยเพื่อเทิดเกียรติแด่พระนางมารีย์ด้วย
ในบทเทศน์ของพระอัครสังฆราชเวลส์ได้กล่าวถึงพระกระแสเรียกบนโลกมนุษย์ของพระนางมารีย์ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งการตอบรับพระประสงค์ของพระเจ้าอย่างกล้าหาญ ท่านเน้นย้ำว่า การตอบรับของพระแม่มารีย์นั้นนำไปสู่ชีวิตที่เต็มไปด้วยความทุกข์ทรมานและการเสียสละ ถึงกระนั้น พระนางก็ยังมั่นคงในความเชื่อจนกลายเป็นแบบอย่างแห่งความเชื่อที่ยิ่งใหญ่ที่สุดเท่าที่โลกเคยมีมา ท่านอธิบายเพิ่มเติมว่า นี่เป็นสัญญาณแห่งความหวังอันทรงพลัง ที่เตือนเราว่า แม้จะอยู่ท่ามกลางความทุกข์และความยากลำบาก ก็ยังมีคำสัญญาแห่งความชื่นชมยินดีและความหวังในชีวิตนิรันดร์อยู่เสมอ
พระอัครสังฆราชแสดงความขอบคุณต่อคณะผู้บริหารมหาวิทยาลัยอัสสัมชัญที่เชิญท่านมาเป็นประธานในการเฉลิมฉลองอันมีความหมายนี้ พร้อมทั้งท่านยังได้ประทานพรแก่ทางมหาวิทยาลัย โดยร่วมอธิษฐานขอให้มหาวิทยาลัยยังคงเป็นประจักษ์พยานด้วยชีวิตตามจิตตารมณ์แห่งพระวรสาร และเป็นเครื่องมือในการประกาศข่าวดีที่มีประสิทธิภาพในประเทศไทยต่อไป

On 8 August 2026, His Excellency Archbishop Peter B. Wells joined the Eucharistic Celebration for the Ordination of deacons and the Institution of new acolytes and lectors at Lux Mundi Major Seminary in Sampran. It was a grace-filled day and a joyful occasion to give thanks to the Lord for calling these young and generous men to follow Christ.
During his congratulatory remarks, Archbishop Wells expressed his appreciation to all those who accompanied, supported, and guided these young men in nurturing their vocations. He further encouraged everyone to continue to pray for vocations and to create an environment where young people can hear the voice of the Good Shepherd, so that they may have the courage to respond with generous hearts.
The Apostolic Nunciature extends it heartfelt congratulations to the newly ordained deacons and the newly instituted lectors and acolytes. We assure them that, together with the whole Church, we will accompany them with our prayers as they journey towards priesthood. May God bring to completion the good things He has begun in them.

On 29 July 2026, the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Peter B. Wells, together with His Excellency Archbishop Samuele Sangalli, Adjunct Secretary and Administrator of the Dicastery for Evangelization, Fr. François Xavier Colin and Fr. Wirach Amonpattana, together with the Sisters and staff members of the Apostolic Nunciature, had the honor of participating in the solemn and joyful celebration of the Episcopal Ordination of The Most Reverend Peter Suphot Roeksujarit as the new Bishop of Chiang Mai. The celebration took place at Sacred Heart School, Chiang Mai.

This faith filled occasion was attended by numerous bishops and priests, as well as many religious men and women. More than 10 thousand lay faithful from across the region also gathered to join in prayer and thanksgiving for their new shepherd. The celebration reflected the words of Bishop Peter Suphot’s episcopal motto, Caritas Omnia Corda Unit (“Love Unites All Hearts”), as the community gathered in the spirit of communion, faith, and charity that marked the celebration.

The Apostolic Nunciature extends its heartfelt congratulations to Bishop Peter Suphot on the beginning of his ministry as the shepherd of Chiang Mai. May he always be guided by the Holy Spirit, strengthened by the grace of God, and accompanied by the loving intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary as he leads and serves the People of God entrusted to his care.

On Thursday 28 May 2026, the Holy Father received in a private audience at the Vatican His Excellency Archbishop Peter B. Wells, Apostolic Nuncio to Thailand and Cambodia and Apostolic Delegate to Laos.

It was a special moment with the Holy Father, marked by a warm exchange of greetings, fraternal conversation and prayers for the mission of the Church in this area.

Please pray for our Holy Father and his ministry to the Universal Church.

On Sunday, 17 May 2026, His Excellency Archbishop Peter B. Wells, Apostolic Nuncio to Thailand, joined the Redemptorist Mission Center and the Divine Mercy Chapel community in congratulating the newly ordained priests of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer. Rev. Fr. Peter Gnantina Phiakeo, C.Ss.R. and Rev. Fr. Philip Nouy Kamhou, C.Ss.R.

During the celebration, Archbishop Wells presented commemorative gifts and offered words of encouragement, highlighting the importance of priestly life lived with dedication, fidelity, and close unity with the People of God.

He also expressed his appreciation for the Redemptorist Congregation in welcoming a 2 newly ordained priests from Laos, who will serve in missionary territories, reflecting the universal nature of the Church and Her commitment to proclaiming the Gospel to all nations.

May the Lord bless these new priests abundantly as they begin their ministry in the service of the Church and God’s people.

ในระหว่างพิธีเฉลิมฉลอง พระสมณทูตได้มอบของที่ระลึกพร้อมทั้งกล่าวให้กำลังใจ โดยเน้นย้ำถึงความสำคัญของชีวิตนักบวชที่ดำเนินชีวิตด้วยการอิทุศตนด้วยความเสียสละ ความซื่อสัตย์ และความสามัคคีปรองดอง เป็นหนึ่งเดียวกันกับประชากรของพระเจ้า

นอกจากนี้ ท่านยังแสดงความขอบคุณต่อคณะพระมหาไถ่ที่ให้การต้อนรับพระสงฆ์ทั้งสองท่านจากประเทศลาว ซึ่งจะเดินทางไปปฏิบัติศาสนบริการในเขตธรรมทูต สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงความเป็นสากลของพระศาสนจักรและพันธกิจในการประกาศพระวรสารแก่นานาชาติ

On 15-16 May 2026, Archbishop Peter B. Wells, Apostolic Nuncio to Thailand, together with Fr. John Wirach Amonpattana, C.Ss.R. visited Mae Sot, Tak Province, to preside over the opening of a new community of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (Salesian Sisters), placed under the patronage of Saint Maria Troncatti, at Santawamit School in the Diocese of Nakhon Sawan.

In his address, Archbishop Wells praised the Sisters’ generous missionary commitment to serving migrant and underprivileged children along the Thai–Myanmar border. He described the new community as “a visible sign of God’s provident love, especially for the little ones and those on the margins.”

The Apostolic Nuncio expressed his special gratitude to Bishop Paul Thawat Singhsa of Nakhon Sawan for his pastoral leadership and warm welcome, to Fr. Charnchai Temarunrung for his dedicated missionary service and careful preparation of the new community and school, and to Fr. Paul Phongsak Sagnamkeaw, Pastor of Saint Theresa Church, for his support of the Church’s educational and charitable outreach to migrant children and families.

During his visit, Archbishop Wells also visited the Holy Infant Jesus Youth Formation Center in Mae Sot, cared for by the Dominican Missionary Sisters of Saint Dominic, where he was warmly welcomed by the children with joyful performances. He expressed his admiration for the Sisters’ loving care for children in need of special attention and support.

Before returning to Bangkok, Archbishop Wells visited Phattharawit School, administered by the Sisters of Saint Paul de Chartres. Meeting students from migrant families of various ethnic backgrounds, he encouraged them to follow the example of Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus and Mother Theresa of Coletta by doing “small things with great love.”

The visit was marked by warm hospitality and offered a moving witness to the Church’s mission of education, compassion, and hope for children and families in the border region.

เมื่อวันที่ 16 พฤษภาคม 2569 อาร์ชบิชอปปีเตอร์ ไบรอัน เวลส์ พระอัครสมณทูตและเลขานุการประจำสถานทูตวาติกัน พร้อมด้วย คุณพ่อวิรัช อมรพัฒนา คุณพ่อคณะพระมหาไถ่ ได้เดินทางเยือนแม่สอด จังหวัดตาก เพื่อเป็นประธานในพิธีเปิดบ้านเพื่อการอบรมเยาวชนแห่งใหม่ใหม่ของคณะธิดาแม่พระองค์อุปถัมภ์ (ซิสเตอร์ซาเลเซียน) ซึ่งอยู่ภายใต้การอุปถัมภ์ของนักบุญมาเรีย ตรองกัตตี ณ โรงเรียนสันถวไมตรีศึกษา ในสังฆมณฑลนครสวรรค์

ในบทเทศน์ พระอัครสมณทูตฯ ได้กล่าวชื่นชมบรรดาซิสเตอร์ถึงความมุ่งมั่นอย่างเสียสละในงานธรรมทูต เพื่อช่วยเหลือเด็กที่อพยพถิ่นฐานและเด็กที่ด้อยโอกาสตลอดแนวชายแดนไทย-เมียนมาร์ ท่านกล่าวว่า บ้านใหม่หลังนี้เป็นเครื่องหมายที่มองเห็นได้ของความรักอันเปี่ยมไปด้วยพระเมตตาของพระเจ้า โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งสำหรับเด็กและเยาวชน และผู้ที่ถูกทอดทิ้งตามชายขอบของสังคม

ระหว่างการเยือนครั้งนี้ พระสมณทูตเวลส์ได้เยี่ยมชมศูนย์อบรมเยาวชนพระกุมารเยซูแห่งแม่สอด ซึ่งอยู่ในการดูแลของคณะซิสเตอร์ธรรมทูตโดมินิกันแห่งนักบุญดอมินิก การต้อนรับเต็มไปด้วยความอบอุ่นจากเด็กๆ ด้วยการแสดงที่สนุกสนาน ท่านยังแสดงความชื่นชมต่อการดูแลด้วยความรักของคณะซิสเตอร์ที่มีต่อเด็กๆ ที่ต้องการความเอาใจใส่และการให้การสนับสนุนเป็นพิเศษ

ก่อนเดินทางกลับ ท่านได้เยี่ยมเยือนโรงเรียนภัทรวิทย์ ซึ่งบริหารงานโดยซิสเตอร์คณะเซนต์ปอล เดอ ชาร์ตร ท่านได้พบปะนักเรียนจากครอบครัวผู้อพยพหลากหลายเชื้อชาติ พร้อมทั้งให้กำลังใจในการดำเนินชีวิตตามแบบอย่ างของนักบุญเทเรซาแห่งพระกุมารเยซู และคุณแม่เทเรซาแห่งกัลกัตตา ด้วยการเริ่มจาก สิ่งเล็กๆน้อยๆด้วยความรักอันยิ่งใหญ่
การเยี่ยมเยือนในครั้งนี้เต็มเปี่ยมไปด้วยการต้อนรับอย่างอบอุ่น และน่าประทับใจถึงพันธกิจของศาสนจักรในด้านการศึกษา ความเมตตากรุณา และความหวังสำหรับเด็กและครอบครัวในเขตชายแดน

On 7 May 2026 the Apostolic Nunciature celebrated the First Anniversary of the Pontificate of His Holiness Pope LEO XIV at Holy Redeemer Church, Bangkok. The festive occasion was attended by many Bishops, Priests, Religious Men and Women, members of Government, members of the Diplomatic Corps, representative of International Organizations, Religious Leaders, and many faithful.

This significant occasion began with a Holy Mass presided by Archbishop Peter B. Wells. In the Homily, the Archbishop reminded those attending that the Holy See maintains Diplomatic relations with nations not to pursue earthly power, but to serve the Gospel command:

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.”

Throughout the event, prayers and good wishes were offered for His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, asking God to continue to bless him with wisdom, strength, and good health in his Petrine ministry.

The Apostolic Nunciature is deeply grateful to all those who took part in this memorable occasion. The presence of each guest made the celebration truly special and a joyful witness of faith, unity, and hope. Let us Continue to pray for Pope LEO.
วันที่ 7 พฤษภาคม ค.ศ.2026 สถานเอกอัครสมณทูตนครรัฐวาติกัน ได้จัดพิธีเฉลิมฉลองครบรอบ 1 ปีแห่งสมณสมัยของสมเด็จพระสันตะปาปาเลโอที่ 14 ณ วัดพระมหาไถ่ กรุงเทพมหานคร ในงานฉลองครั้งนี้มีบรรดาพระสังฆราช พระสงฆ์ นักบวชชาย หญิง ผู้แทนจากหน่วยงานราชการ สมาชิกคณะทูตานุทูต ผู้แทนองค์กรระหว่างประเทศ ผู้นำศาสนาและสัตบุรุษจำนวนมาก เข้าร่วมพิธีอย่างพร้อมเพียงกัน

ในวันสำคัญนี้เริ่มต้นด้วย พิธีบูชาขอบพระคุณโดย พระสมณทูตปีเตอร์ บี เวลส์ เป็นประธานในพิธี ในบทเทศน์ พระสมณทูตได้ย้ำเตือนผู้เข้าร่วมงานว่า สันตะสำนักรักษาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตระหว่างประเทศต่างๆ ไม่ใช่เพื่อการแสวงหาอำนาจ แต่เพื่อรับใช้ตามพระวารสารที่กล่าวไว้ว่า

“ผู้สร้างสันติ ย่อมเป็นสุข เพราะเขาจะได้ชื่อว่าเป็นบุตรของพระเจ้า”

โดยตลอดทั้งงาน มีการถวายคำภาวนาและคำอวยพรแด่สมเด็จพระสันตะปาปาเลโอที่ 14 ขอพระเจ้าทรงโปรดประทานพระปรีชาญาณ พละกำลัง และมีพลานามัยที่สมบูรณ์แก่สมเด็จพระสันตะปาปาในการปฏิบัติพันธกิจในฐานะประมุขของพระศาสนจักร
