ไทยประกาศความพร้อม ยื่นหนังสือ BIE ขอรับรองสิทธิ์จัดงาน Korat Expo 2029 มหกรรมพืชสวนโลกระดับ A1
กรุงปารีส, ฝรั่งเศส – เมื่อวันที่ 17 กุมภาพันธ์ที่ผ่านมา คณะผู้แทนไทยนำโดย นายนิกรเดช พลางกูร เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงปารีส พร้อมด้วยนายนิษณะ ทวีพาณิชย์ อัครราชทูต ฝ่ายการพาณิชย์ สำนักงานส่งเสริมการค้าในต่างประเทศ และนายสงขลา จุลกะเศียน อัครราชทูต (ฝ่ายเกษตร) ประจำสหภาพยุโรปผู้แทน เข้าพบ นายดิมิทรี เคอร์เคนเซส (Mr. Dimitri Kerkentzes) เลขาธิการองค์การนิทรรศการนานาชาติ (BIE) ณ กรุงปารีส เพื่อยื่นหนังสือขอรับรองสิทธิ์การจัดงานระดับ A1 (Letter Requesting Recognition) ในการเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดงาน “มหกรรมพืชสวนโลกจังหวัดนครราชสีมา พ.ศ. 2572 (Korat Expo 2029)” ภายใต้แนวคิดหลัก "Nature and Greenery: Envisioning the Green Future" (ธรรมชาติและพันธุ์พืชเขียวขจี อนาคตแห่งโลกสีเขียว) อย่างเป็นทางการ ตามมติคณะรัฐมนตรีเมื่อวันที่ 16 พฤศจิกายน 2564 และ 4 มกราคม 2565 โดยมีกระทรวงเกษตรและสหกรณ์ สำนักงานส่งเสริมการจัดประชุมและนิทรรศการ (องค์การมหาชน) หรือ ทีเส็บ และจังหวัดนครราชสีมา เป็นหน่วยงานหลักในการดำเนินงาน
โดยหลังจากนี้ ทาง BIE จะนำเสนอต่อที่ประชุมคณะกรรมการบริหาร BIE (Executive Committee) และ สมัชชาใหญ่ BIE (General Assembly) เพื่อพิจารณาการรับรองสิทธิ์การจัดงานในเดือนเมษายนและมิถุนายน พ.ศ. 2569 ตามลำดับต่อไป
ทั้งนี้หลังจากผ่านการรับรองสิทธิ์การจัดงานในครั้งนี้ Korat Expo 2029 จะกลายเป็นเวทีสำคัญในการแสดงศักยภาพด้านนวัตกรรมพืชสวนและเทคโนโลยีสีเขียวของไทย พร้อมทั้งกระตุ้นเศรษฐกิจและการท่องเที่ยวในภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือและประเทศไทยอย่างยั่งยืน
Thailand Declares Readiness and Submits A1 Recognition Request to BIE for Korat Expo 2029
Paris, France – 17 February 2026 — Thailand has officially declared its readiness to host a world-class international horticultural exhibition by submitting a formal Letter Requesting Recognition for A1 status to the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) for the Nakhon Ratchasima International Horticultural Expo 2029 (Korat Expo 2029).
The Thai delegation, led by H.E. Mr. Nikorndej Balankura, Ambassador of Thailand to France, together with Mr. Nissana Thaveepanit, Minister (Commercial Affairs), Office of Commercial Affairs, and Mr. Songkhla Chulakasian, Minister (Agriculture), paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Dimitri Kerkentzes, Secretary General of the BIE, at the BIE Headquarters in Paris to formally submit the request.
The request for A1 recognition—the highest classification for an international horticultural exhibition—has been submitted in accordance with the approval of the Thai Cabinet. The proposed Expo will be held under the theme “Nature and Greenery: Envisioning the Green Future” project is led by the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, in close cooperation with the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) and Nakhon Ratchasima Province.
As the next step, the BIE Secretariat will submit Thailand’s request for consideration by the BIE Executive Committee and subsequently by the BIE General Assembly, scheduled for April and June 2026, respectively.
Once officially recognised, Korat Expo 2029 will serve as a premier global stage to showcase Thailand’s prowess in horticultural innovation and green technology. Furthermore, it is expected to be a major economic driver, significantly boosting sustainable tourism and development for Nakhon Ratchasima, the Northeastern region, and Thailand as a whole.
