คณะวนศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์ ได้จัดโครงการแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ด้านเทคโนโลยีการทำไม้และการจัดการป่าไม้อย่างยั่งยืนเพื่อเศรษฐกิจชีวภาพ (Sustainable Forestry Operations for the Bioeconomy: A Nordic–Thai Knowledge Exchange Initiative) เพื่อเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือทางวิชาการระหว่างมหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์กับสถาบันวิจัยและมหาวิทยาลัยในกลุ่มประเทศนอร์ดิก

เมื่อวันที่ 15 มิถุนายน 2569 รศ.ดร.ประทีป ด้วงแค คณบดีคณะวนศาสตร์ ให้เกียรติกล่าวเปิดงาน Discover tropical forest operations Summer School ด้านเทคโนโลยีป่าไม้และการจัดการป่าไม้อย่างยั่งยืนเพื่อเศรษฐกิจชีวภาพ ซึ่งจัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 15–19 มิถุนายน 2569 โดยมี รศ.ดร.นพรัตน์ คัคคุคิวาระ อาจารย์ภาควิชาวิศวกรรมป่าไม้ เป็นผู้ดูแลโครงการ และ มีวิทยากรรับเชิญจากมหาวิทยาลัยในกลุ่มประเทศนอร์ดิก และ สาธารณรัฐเช็กได้แก่ Dr.Jussi Manner, Dr.Heikki Korhonen และ Dr.Tomáš Zemánek

โดยตลอดกิจกรรมทั้ง 5 วัน มีนิสิตไทยและนานาชาติทั้งระดับปริญญาตรีและปริญญาโท ร่วมสัมมนากับวิทยากรผู้เชี่ยวชาญ เรียนรู้ภาคสนามในป่าเขตร้อนของไทย และสร้างเครือข่ายความร่วมมือวิจัยระยะยาวระหว่างไทยและนอร์ดิก เพื่อยกระดับ มก. สู่ศูนย์กลางความร่วมมือด้านป่าไม้ระดับภูมิภาค

The Faculty of Forestry, Kasetsart University, is proud to present the Sustainable Forestry Operations for the Bioeconomy: A Nordic–Thai Knowledge Exchange Initiative, a strategic academic collaboration between Kasetsart University and leading research institutions and universities in the Nordic countries.

On 15 June 2026, Assoc.Prof.Dr.Prateep Duangkhae, Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, presided over the opening ceremony of the “Discover Tropical Forest Operations Summer School” on sustainable forestry technology and bioeconomy management, held from 15–19 June 2026. The programme is coordinated by Assoc.Prof.Dr.Nopparat Kaakkurivaara, lecturer in the Department of Forest Engineering. The Summer School also welcomed guest speakers from universities in the Nordic countries and the Czech Republic, namely Dr.Jussi Manner, Dr.Heikki Korpunen, and Dr.Tomáš Zemánek.

Throughout the five-day programme, Thai and international students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels participated in expert-led seminars, hands-on field learning in Thailand’s tropical forests, and collaborative research discussions building long-term research networks between Thailand and the Nordic region, while strengthening Kasetsart University’s position as a leading regional hub for forestry cooperation.

คณะวนศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์ ขอแสดงความยินดีกับ ศาสตราจารย์ ดร.สราวุธ สังข์แก้ว อาจารย์ประจำภาควิชาชีววิทยาป่าไม้ ในโอกาสได้รับพระบรมราชโองการโปรดเกล้าโปรดกระหม่อมแต่งตั้งให้ดำรงตำแหน่ง "ศาสตราจารย์" สาขาวิชาชีววิทยาป่าไม้ ตั้งแต่วันที่ 21 มิถุนายน พ.ศ. 2565 ตามประกาศสำนักนายกรัฐมนตรี เรื่อง แต่งตั้งศาสตราจารย์ ซึ่งประกาศในราชกิจจานุเบกษา เมื่อวันที่ 10 มิถุนายน พ.ศ. 2569

คณะวนศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์ ให้การต้อนรับคณาจารย์และนิสิตจากสถาบันการศึกษาชั้นนำจากต่างประเทศ ในกิจกรรม “Discover Tropical Forest Operations” ซึ่งจัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 15–19 มิถุนายน 2569 ณ คณะวนศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์ กรุงเทพมหานคร

โครงการดังกล่าวเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของความร่วมมือทางวิชาการภายใต้โปรแกรม “Sustainable Forestry Operations for the Bioeconomy: A Nordic–Thai Knowledge Exchange Initiative” ซึ่งมุ่งเน้นการแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ ประสบการณ์ และแนวปฏิบัติด้านเทคโนโลยีการทำไม้ การจัดการป่าไม้อย่างยั่งยืน และการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจชีวภาพ (Bioeconomy) ระหว่างประเทศไทยและประเทศในกลุ่มนอร์ดิก ตลอดจนเครือข่ายความร่วมมือทางวิชาการระดับนานาชาติ

ผู้เข้าร่วมโครงการประกอบด้วยผู้แทนจาก Skogforsk ประเทศสวีเดน, Mendel University in Brno สาธารณรัฐเช็ก, National Taiwan University ไต้หวัน, University of Helsinki ประเทศฟินแลนด์, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences ประเทศสวีเดน, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign สหรัฐอเมริกา และมหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์

ตลอดระยะเวลาโครงการ ผู้เข้าร่วมจะได้เรียนรู้ผ่านการบรรยายทางวิชาการ การแลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์ และกิจกรรมภาคสนาม เพื่อเสริมสร้างเครือข่ายความร่วมมือด้านการจัดการป่าไม้อย่างยั่งยืนในระดับนานาชาติ ตลอดจนร่วมกันขับเคลื่อนการใช้ทรัพยากรป่าไม้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ ควบคู่ไปกับการรักษาสมดุลด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม เพื่อการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนในอนาคต

The Faculty of Forestry, KU, is pleased to welcome lecturers and students from leading international institutions participating in the “Discover Tropical Forest Operations” program, taking place from 15–19 June 2026 at the Faculty of Forestry, Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand.

The program is part of the academic collaboration under the “Sustainable Forestry Operations for the Bioeconomy: A Nordic–Thai Knowledge Exchange Initiative.” It aims to promote the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and best practices in forest operations technology, sustainable forest management, and bioeconomy development among Thailand, the Nordic countries, and international academic partners.

Participants represent a diverse range of institutions, including Skogforsk (Sweden), Mendel University in Brno (Czech Republic), National Taiwan University (Taiwan), the University of Helsinki (Finland), the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (Sweden), the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (United States), and Kasetsart University (Thailand).

Throughout the program, participants will engage in academic lectures, knowledge-sharing sessions, and field-based learning activities. These activities are designed to strengthen international collaboration and professional networks in sustainable forest management while fostering innovative approaches to the efficient and environmentally responsible utilization of forest resources for a sustainable future.

The 2026 ForestGEO Analytical Workshop Opens in Krabi, Thailand

Krabi, Thailand, 13 June 2026 — The 2026 ForestGEO Analytical Workshop officially opened on 13 June 2026 at the Avani Ao Nang Cliff Krabi Resort, Krabi, Thailand. The workshop is being held from 13 to 26 June 2026 and brings together more than 60 researchers, students, and forest scientists from around the world.

The workshop is jointly organized by ForestGEO, Smithsonian Institution, Kasetsart University, the Faculty of Forestry, and the Thai Long-Term Forest Ecological Research Project, with support from partner agencies and institutions in Thailand and abroad.

The opening ceremony was attended by distinguished guests from Kasetsart University, the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency, and the ForestGEO network. Among the honored guests were Dr. Damrong Sripraram, Acting President of Kasetsart University; Dr. Stuart J. Davies, Director of ForestGEO, Smithsonian Institution; representatives from the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation; and representatives from the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency.

On behalf of the organizing committee, Assoc. Prof. Nantachai Pongpattananurak, Ph.D., Principal Investigator of the Thai Long-Term Forest Ecological Research Project, Faculty of Forestry, Kasetsart University, delivered the workshop report. He emphasized that the main objective of the workshop is to strengthen the analytical capacity of early-career researchers and students working on long-term forest ecological research through large forest dynamics plots.

Throughout the two-week program, participants will engage in hands-on analytical exercises, research discussions, ecological interpretation, research design, scientific presentation, manuscript preparation, and collaborative research development. Participants will also receive guidance from experienced scientists and mentors within the ForestGEO network.

In addition to the core analytical sessions, the workshop features invited talks and special presentations on Thailand’s biodiversity, wildlife ecology, forest conservation, geo-informatics applications, and long-term forest research. These sessions aim to provide participants with a broader understanding of Thailand’s forest ecosystems and conservation context.

During the opening program, Dr. Siam Lawawirojwong, Director of the Geo-Informatics Innovation Office at the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency, or GISTDA, delivered an invited talk entitled “An Overview of GISTDA’s Work on Forests and the Environment in Thailand.” His presentation highlighted GISTDA’s important work on forests, environmental monitoring, and geo-informatics applications in Thailand.

The program also featured an invited talk by Mrs. Sunee Sakseau, Director of the Forest Plant Conservation Office, Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, entitled “An Overview of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation’s Work on Forests and Environmental Conservation in Thailand.” Her presentation provided an overview of the Department’s important role in forest and environmental conservation in Thailand.

A key component of the workshop is a field trip to Khao Chong Botanical Garden in Trang Province, which is associated with the long-term Khao Chong Forest Dynamics Plot. The field visit will provide participants with an opportunity to learn about the ecological setting and research background of long-term forest monitoring in southern Thailand and Southeast Asia.

The 2026 ForestGEO Analytical Workshop serves as an important platform for capacity building, scientific exchange, research collaboration, and academic networking among members of the ForestGEO community and partner institutions. The program also offers participants the opportunity to experience Ao Nang, Krabi, one of Thailand’s major tourist destinations.
