On June 2, as part of , we hosted Fulbright Specialist and Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Charles Dye at the American Corner, Université de Lomé.
Drawing on his Fulbright experience, he engaged participants on storytelling, resilience, and creative independence, and highlighted Lomé’s potential to grow into a regional filmmaking hub. By building local skills, Togo can create jobs, attract investment, and connect to global markets.
This work advances commercial diplomacy by linking talent, industry, and opportunity to support sustainable economic growth.

Since January 1, 2026, pursuant to a Presidential Proclamation, the United States has suspended or limited the entry and visa issuance of certain categories of Togolese nationals. These restrictions remain in effect.

Applicants may still submit visa applications and attend their scheduled interviews, but they may be ineligible for visa issuance.

Before paying visa, application fees or making travel plans, we encourage you to review official information at https://tg.usembassy.gov/visas/
Visa application fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

As the United States marks 250 years of achievements in 2026, we highlight the steady mind behind revolutionary change: James Madison, who helped forge the American republic through ideas, shaping its government and defending it in times of crisis. Born in Virginia in 1751 and educated at Princeton University, he developed a deep commitment to liberty and skepticism of unchecked power that guided his role in the Revolution and early governance debates.
As the principal architect of the United States Constitution and a key author of The Federalist Papers, he defined the principles of popular government, separation of powers, and later championed the Bill of Rights. Le tournoi débutera en Amérique du Nord le 11 juin, et les États-Unis, en tant que principal pays hôte, accueilleront le monde entier au cours de cette année historique.

On May 20, 2026, the U.S. Embassy and co-hosted an Executive Roundtable as part of the campaign, bringing together business leaders to discuss how to strengthen commercial deals between U.S. and Togolese companies.

The conversation focused on the business climate, investor confidence, public-private partnerships, and practical ways to expand opportunities for American companies and Togolese partners. Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Kim McClure underscored the U.S. Embassy’s commitment to building a stronger U.S.-Togo commercial partnership that supports shared prosperity.

Fulbright Specialist Charles Dye, Associate Professor of Cinema Production at the School of Performing Arts (SoPA), Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (VT), will be in Togo working at ISICA, the journalism school of the University of Lomé. Dr. Dye will collaborate with Togolese teaching and research staff to develop frameworks for a master’s degree in cinema and audiovisual studies, deliver specialized workshops, and initiate long-term institutional partnerships between the University of Lomé and U.S. counterparts.
