Somalia Congratulates H.E. Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed on His Election as OIC Secretary-General

Mogadishu, Somalia | 27 August 2026

The Federal Government of Somalia extends its warm congratulations to H.E. Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania on his election by consensus as Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, at the Extraordinary Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Somalia also commends H.E. Hissein Brahim Taha for his stewardship of joint Islamic action throughout his tenure.

Somalia looks forward to working closely with the incoming Secretary-General to advance the shared priorities of the Muslim Ummah, foremost among them the just cause of the Palestinian people, and reaffirms its commitment to joint Islamic action.

استقبل سعادة السفير محمد بمبه محمد بوبه، المدير العام للبعثة الإقليمية لمنظمة التعاون الإسلامي في الصومال، سعادة السفير محمد عليم، سفير الجمهورية الجزائرية الديمقراطية الشعبية لدى جمهورية الصومال الفيدرالية، وذلك بمقر البعثة في مقديشو.

وجرى خلال اللقاء بحث عدد من القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك، وسبل تعزيز التعاون والتنسيق بين الجانبين.

H.E. Ambassador Mohamed Bamba M. Boba, Director General of the OIC Regional Mission in Somalia, received H.E. Ambassador Mohamed Alim, Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to the Federal Republic of Somalia, at the Mission’s headquarters in Mogadishu.

The meeting discussed matters of mutual interest and ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the two sides.

قام سعادة السفير محمد بمبه محمد بوبه، المدير العام للبعثة الإقليمية للمنظمة في الصومال، بزيارة السفارة القطرية في مقديشو لتقديم واجب العزاء في وفاة صاحب السمو الأمير الوالد الشيخ حمد بن خليفة آل ثاني.

وقد سجل سعادته كلمة في سجل التعازي، عبّر فيها عن تضامن البعثة الإقليمية لمنظمة التعاون الإسلامي مع قيادة وشعب دولة قطر، سائلًا المولى عز وجل أن يتغمد الفقيد بواسع رحمته، وأن يلهم أسرته الكريمة والشعب القطري الشقيق جميل الصبر والسلوان.

قام سعادة السفير محمد بمبه محمد بوبه، المدير العام للبعثة الإقليمية لمنظمة التعاون الإسلامي في الصومال، بزيارة إلى مقر سفارة الجمهورية اليمنية في مقديشو لتقديم واجب العزاء في وفاة الرئيس اليمني السابق عبد ربه منصور هادي، معربًا عن خالص تعازيه ومواساته للشعب اليمني الشقيق، ومؤكدًا تضامن البعثة مع الجمهورية اليمنية في هذا المصاب الأليم.
