Somalia 🇸🇴 is making its biggest effort to rebuild its air power since the collapse of the state in 1991.

It is in talks with Pakistan to buy up to twenty-four JF-17 Block III fighter jets.

The country has not had a functional combat air force for more than 30 years.

The deal also includes pilot training and technical support. If finalized, it would become Somalia’s most significant military aircraft purchase in decades.

🚨 BREAKING: Somali Forces Intercept Unlicensed Vessels in Major Maritime Security Operation Off Coast.

Reports from Somalia’s 🇸🇴 coastal waters indicate that Somali coastal forces have intercepted and detained several unlicensed vessels operating off the shoreline, as part of continued efforts to curb illegal maritime activity in the region.

Over the past three decades, Somali waters have faced persistent illicit maritime activity, including arms smuggling, human trafficking, and drug trafficking. These activities have been linked in various reports to regional and international actors, including Israel and the UAE, as well as transnational criminal networks, raising ongoing concerns about regional security and stability.

This latest development comes just days after the Federal Republic of Somalia announced tighter controls over its strategic waters near the Bab al-Mandeb corridor, stressing that its territory will not be used for unauthorized or illegal transport or activities involving external criminal actors, including Israel and the UAE, as well as other transnational networks.

Officials say the move is part of a broader push to strengthen maritime security, safeguard national sovereignty, and curb activities that fuel instability across the Horn of Africa and beyond

The situation remains tense as maritime enforcement operations continue in the region.

The UAE is a threat to Somalia's nationalism and government. For example, Ethiopian and Kenyan passports are easy to enter the UAE even with a visa. But they refused the passport of our country Somalia, and it is not possible to give you an easy entry into the , so it is good that the Somali people see the danger that the UAE poses to our people and our country.

Therefore, they made our passport worthless, so that the world could lower the status of Somalia. On the other hand, Somalis living in the United Arab Emirates are not allowed to enter the universities in the UAE, and they are discriminated against in the universities in the UAE.

So the Somali people should ask their government what they are doing about the United Arab Emirates as they have seen the problem that the UAE is having in our country Somalia, while on the other hand they are blocking our ports so that they cannot take them to the world, they have put them under their port so that the ports of Somalia will not have a name in the rest of the world.
