Sustainability & Integration (S&I) was created by a group of students concerned about issues of sustainability and ways to build bridges among students, so as to strengthen the internationalization of Wageningen University. As a result, our mission is to improve the livelihoods of students, by pursuing better housing facilities, 2nd hand book swapping, and re-introduction of the university doctor.
Furthermore, we would like to ensure and a smoother integration for first years in the Netherlands, and create more opportunities for people to mingle with different people from various backgrounds and ethnicities. We are also interested in increasing the environmental awareness of students in Wageningen, through a series of activities and projects. In collaboration with the university's green organizations, such as Wageningen Environmental Platform (WEP), we are actively involved with a variety of events. Above all, S&I is comprised by students, which means that we have the incentive to pursue for a greater academic experience, that enables students to evolve personally and collectively. Being from different cultural backgrounds allows us to sympathize and empathize with international students, but also dutch whose hometowns are far away. Finally, being mature students allows us to be more focused and precise on our agenda, and the means to achieve our goals.
