KLDC CHAIRMAN REVIEWS 2025 ACHIEVEMENTS, COMMENDS DISTRICT STAKEHOLDERS AT END-OF-YEAR DINNER.
Kailahun Town, Kailahun District, 20th December, 2025 - At the End-of-Year Dinner of the Kailahun District Council, organised by the Council Administration, the Chairman of KLDC, Sahr Ahmed Kaikonjor Lamin thanked various district stakeholders and development players/partners, singing praises for good collaboration in 2025. The dinner, with pump and pageantry, attracted guests from all walks of life in the district.
Giving his end of year message at the Council Canteen on Thursday 18th December, 2025, Chairman Lamin recalled strides and achievements of the Council in 2025 which included infrastructural development in various communities under the Accountable Governance for Basic Service Delivery (AGBSD) Project, connection of communities to basic social amenities through road works under the Road Maintenance Fund Administration (RMFA) project, ongoing construction of an ultra modern multipurpose hall and Council sitting well in the Council compound with funds from the European Union under the “Empowering Kailahun District Council for enhanced inclusive service delivery” project, among others. “All these feats became possible because of the team of committed professionals I have in the administrative wing of the Council. My esteemed Chief Administrator and core staff, thank you for a job well done,” the Chairman applauded. He hailed Councilors, stating that they are fuel in the engine of the Council, but charged them to brace up for more work in 2026. “To our devolved sectors, the NGOs, traditional and community leaders, the security forces, Trader’s Union, and everyone, I want to specially thank you for serving as pillars of development in this district. Your contributions have been remarkable and we recognise and appreciate all of you,” he said. Chairman Sahr A. K. Lamin called on every resident to support the Council the more in 2026 in all ways they can but more so in payment of their taxes.
Chief Administrator of the Council, Hawa Toma Coomber gratified every staff for supporting her since she took over administration in March, 2025. She asked for more unity, support and dedication for the good and growth of Kailahun District. “Like my Chairman will say, ‘we need you residents for us to do the mighty works you require from us’ so please give your financial support through taxes and ask us later what we have done with it. We need your support please,” Coomber solicited. The Chief Administrator issued awards for exemplary performance in 2025, stating that it is a motivation to those persons and institutions, but more so, it serves as an energy stirrer in every staff and sector. Awards and awardees included, but not limited to, Core Staff of the year Award, awarded to the Human Resource Officer, Hassan Mohamed Sheriff; Support Staff of the year award, awarded to Mr. Sahr Fayia; Devolved Sector of the year award, awarded to The Ministry of Agriculture; Councilor of the Year Award, awarded to Councilor Augustine Momoh Lahai, an award of appreciation to the European Union in Sierra Leone for their support to the people of Kailahun District. The dinner and awards ceremony was climaxed by the Chairman’s launch of the Kailahun District Council 2025 Newsletter and 2026 Calendar.
