Nee Soon Group Representation Constituency (Traditional Chinese: 义顺集選區; Simplified Chinese: 义顺集选区) is a five-member Group Representation Constituency (GRC) in the north region of Singapore.The GRC includes Yishun Housing Estate, private residential areas along Sembawang R
oad and Canberra Housing Estate. The GRC was formed during the 2011 election, which absorb former Nee Soon Central SMC, Nee Soon East SMC and 2 divisions from Sembawang GRC and a division from Ang Mo Kio GRC. During the General Election held in May 2011, the PAP team won the Nee Soon GRC with a total of 58.40% of the votes out of the 94.80% turnout of eligible voters. About our MP
Our MP and Adviser Mr Patrick Tay Teck Guan graduated with both a Bachelor’s as well as a Master’s degree (in Law) from the National University of Singapore. He started out his career in the Singapore Police Force (SPF) after graduation in 1995. His last posting in the SPF was as Commanding Officer of SPF’s Elite Special Tactics and Rescue (STAR) Unit. He joined the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) in 2002 and is currently an NTUC Director overseeing the Legal Services Department and Professionals, Managers & Executives (PME) issues. Concurrently, he is also the Executive Secretary of the Healthcare Services Employees’ Union (HSEU) and Advisor to the Union of Security Employees (USE). As a trade unionist, Patrick has been a strong advocate for workers’ interests and always has a heart for them. He actively champions PME issues.
