🏆 1st in Singapore. 14 and under.

Organised by the National Organ Transplant Unit (MOH), the Live On Festival invites youths from schools across Singapore to explore organ donation and transplantation through art and writing - and this year, one of our own took top honours nationally.

Congratulations to Phoon Jia Xuan (2CMT) on clinching 1st Place in the Junior Category (14 years and under) of this national essay competition! 🎉

Jia Xuan wrote from the perspective of the organ itself, tracing its journey from donor to recipient. It’s a difficult voice to sustain, and he carried it with a tenderness and clarity that stayed with everyone who read it. His essay was even singled out by the Guest-of-Honour during his speech at the award ceremony.

🏸 SILVER FOR OUR C DIVISION GIRLS! 🥈

Our C Division Girls’ Badminton Team has clinched 2nd place in League 2 at the National School Games!

Behind every rally won was a morning training session before the sun was properly up. Behind every match point was a shuttle picked up off the floor for the hundredth time. Behind this silver medal is a team that kept showing up for one another - through the drills, the drop shots, and the days when their arms just wouldn’t cooperate.

To our girls: you played with heart, you played with grit, and you played for each other. That’s what we mean when we say .

Evergreen is so proud of you. 💚

🇸🇬Throwback to our National Day Celebrations! ❤️🤍

This year, we marked Singapore’s birthday with a celebration of camaraderie, character and what it means to build a nation together.

Our annual March Past set the tone for the morning, with our Red Cross Youth proudly serving as the Guard of Honour. From there, the celebration moved into the hall, where the Evergreen spirit came alive through a rousing National Day singalong! 🎶🇸🇬

One of the highlights was our Class Mascot Catwalk 🦁✨ Each class designed and paraded a mascot inspired by our National Education messages and the values that have shaped Singapore - bringing ideas such as unity, resilience, responsibility and belonging to life in wonderfully creative ways.

More than just a celebration, it was a reminder that nation-building happens when we come together - different voices, different stories, one community and one shared home.

🏆🎉 CHAMPIONS! OUR CL DEBATERS DID IT! 🎉🏆
WE ARE OVER THE MOON! Our CL Debate Team has just been crowned INAUGURAL CHAMPIONS of the National Schools Chinese Debating Competition, defeating Hwa Chong Institution in an incredible showdown at the MOE Auditorium! 🥇🔥
And the celebrations don’t stop there - Dua Xin Jie (3 Dynamic) has once again been named Best Speaker, back-to-back from the semi-finals to the Grand Finals! An extraordinary display of skill, confidence and heart. 🌟🗣️

🤖✨ Earlier this week, we explored how EVGians are using AI in their daily lives. Today, let's take a step further and see how our Secondary 1 students are learning to create with AI!

Through two AI for Fun modules, our Secondary 1 students discovered the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence while building their digital literacy and AI skills. Along the way, they explored how AI can be used to create, solve problems and bring ideas to life.

From interactive games to creative digital applications, our students put their learning into action by designing their very own AI-powered apps. 💡📱

Take a look at some of the amazing apps our Secondary 1 students have created. We are excited to see how they continue to grow as confident, responsible and future-ready learners! 🌟

To every Primary 6 student who took a chance and applied for DSA at Evergreen Secondary School, thank you for sharing your passions, talents and aspirations with us.

Whether your interests lie in sports, languages, leadership or Digital Media, your application reflects the courage to step forward and pursue what matters to you. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn more about each of you through this journey.

We would also like to thank the parents and guardians who supported your child throughout the application process. Your encouragement and trust mean a great deal to us.

The DSA application period has now closed, and shortlisted applicants will be contacted in due course.
As we await the next stage of the process, we hope every student leaves this experience with a deeper understanding of their strengths, interests and potential.

The Evergreen journey continues, and we look forward to welcoming the next generation of EVGians. 🌱

🎻✨ Our Sec 1 EVGians had the wonderful opportunity to attend a live orchestral performance by the renowned Singapore Symphony Orchestra at the beautiful Esplanade Concert Hall as part of the Performing Arts-based Learning (PABL) initiative by MOE.

From the moment the music filled the concert hall, students were immersed in the richness of the performance. Beyond appreciating the artistry of the musicians, the experience also opened doors to deeper cultural understanding and a greater awareness of the performing arts. 🎶

For many of our students, it was their first time experiencing a live orchestra performance, making the evening all the more meaningful and memorable. We hope this experience continues to inspire curiosity, appreciation, and a lifelong connection to the arts. 💫

🎨✨ EVGians recently had the opportunity to explore interactive Art Carts, on loan from the National Gallery Singapore.
Featuring selected artworks by Singapore and Southeast Asian artists, the displays invited students to engage with art in a meaningful and accessible way through interactive activities and thoughtful exploration. 🖼️

The experience also complemented our students’ GIF-making project in Art, allowing them to draw inspiration from the artworks while deepening their creativity and artistic expression during lessons. Many students also took the chance to visit the Art Carts during recess to discover the exhibits at their own pace. ✨

We hope that through experiences like these, EVGians continue to broaden their perspectives, appreciate the arts, and grow as creative and reflective learners. 💫

🏆 Our Bilingual Edge in Action 🏆
National Secondary Schools Chinese Debate Competition

At Evergreen, our Applied Learning Programme develops our students’ Bilingual Edge - the confidence, competence and conviction to communicate powerfully across languages and ideas.

We are proud to share that our Higher Chinese Language Debate Team has advanced to the Finals after defeating Nanyang Girls’ High School 5–1 in the semi-finals on 16 May! 🎉
