๐Ÿค We step into the blessed month of Muharram with hearts full of gratitude and a spirit of giving!

Earlier today, as part of SalamSG Gives, our MUlSians and mosque volunteers, along with their loved ones, distributed korban meat from SalamSG Overseas Korban to more than 140 families across Singapore.

Acting Minister-in-Charge of Muslim Affairs, Assoc Prof Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, and MUIS Senior Management were also on the ground, engaging with our Zakat beneficiaries and sharing in the joy of this meaningful occasion.

It was heartwarming to see so many eager to be part of this meaningful effort, coming together to bring joy to our beneficiariesโ€™ doorsteps.

We extend our gratitude to everyone who made this possible. It is through your unwavering support that SalamSG Overseas Korban received more than 5,400 orders this year. This also means close to 5,000 beneficiaries will receive korban meat, with distributions taking place until end of June.

May Allah bless our community with continued strength, unity, and compassion as we journey through this new Hijri year together.

Shared at Majlis Fi Rihabi Rahmah at Masjid Al-Ansar today, reflections were offered on the spirit of Hijrah and the arrival of a new Hijri year in Muharram. A journey of trust, courage and quiet surrender to Allah.

From the blessed migration of the Prophet s.a.w. to the milestones that shaped our ummah, Muharram reminds us that every beginning carries the seed of an ending written in mercy.

May our steps in this year be guided with sincerity and may what begins with intention end in barakah. ๐Ÿค

Congratulations to the Project ARIF (Achieving Resilient & Inspiring Families) team on receiving the Distinguished Team Award at the SingHealth Excellence Awards! ๐ŸŽ‰

This recognition reflects the team's outstanding commitment to innovation and knowledge translation โ€” bridging the gap between research and clinical practice to improve care outcomes for patients and the healthcare system.

We are proud of the team's efforts in advancing the application of knowledge within the local healthcare sector and look forward to the long-term impact this work will bring to the community.

Funded by Temasek Foundation, Project ARIF is a collaborative programme by KK Women's and Children's Hospital(KKH) and MUIS, aimed at supporting Muslim couples and families through their marital, pre-natal, post-natal and early parenthood journey. This partnership brings together religious guidance, medical expertise and community support in a way that was practical, trusted and close to families. With MUISโ€™ support, Muslim couples gain easier access to national resources from trusted community touchpoints like the mosques.

From June 2026, ARIF will join Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) Singapore as a permanent component of the expanded Bersamamu ecosystem. Together, they will collaborate closely with Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY), the Registry of Muslim Marriages (ROMM), MUIS, KKH, mosques across Singapore and other key partners to curate a suite of programmes and services for Muslim couples at every stage of their journey. These may include marriage enrichment workshops, family planning and parenting support, financial literacy programmes as well as counselling and mental wellness services โ€” all designed to strengthen marriages and build resilient Muslim families within the community.

The Khutbah today invites us to reflect upon verses 16-17 of Surah al-Aโ€™la and how it points towards the idea of delayed gratification being taught in the Quran. That the Hereafter is worth some form of struggle in this world. But at the same time, the Quran also teaches balance between striving for the Hereafter and maintaining our duties and roles in this world.

Here, we have some of our jemaah who also had their own reflections about the verses of the quran mentioned in the khutbah.

So, lets reflect on the Quran with tadabbur!
