Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE) was pleased to welcome a delegation from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment (MoICE), Royal Government of Bhutan, to Singapore from 2 to 4 June for a study visit on Bhutan’s Industrial Development Roadmap. The delegation was hosted by Mr Eric Lee, Director, Partnerships and Training; Ms Daisy Boon, Director, Central and South Asia & Eastern Europe; Ms Flora Ang, Senior Manager, Partnerships and Training; and Ms Yvonne Lim, Senior Manager, Central and South Asia & Eastern Europe. The programme provided a platform for participants to gain insights into Singapore’s approach to industrial transformation, SME development, and sustainable economic growth.
Through dynamic engagements with Singapore’s public sector agencies Enterprise Singapore, IMDA, Singapore Tourism Board, ITE College Central, and National Heritage Board where the delegation gained valuable insights into how Singapore supports enterprise growth, strengthens industry competitiveness, and drives innovation-led development. The conversations brought to life key strategies around empowering SMEs, advancing digital transformation, and building industries that are ready for the future.
This learning journey was further enriched by engagements with industry partners and associations, including Association of Small & Medium Enterprises, The Federation of Merchants' Associations, Singapore, raiSE, and Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF). These interactions grounded the discussions in real-world experience, offering practical perspectives and lessons from implementation on the ground.
Together, these engagements evolved into a rich two-way exchange of ideas, covering areas such as enterprise and industry development, social entrepreneurship, workforce and skills transformation, tourism growth strategies, and the role of heritage in shaping economic value.
Beyond the formal sessions, learning continued in more informal settings. A visit to the Singapore Oceanarium provided the delegation with an opportunity to experience one of Singapore’s attractions firsthand, while deepening connections through conversations, shared reflections, and moments of discovery.
SCE extends its appreciation to our lead consultant Chin Chuan Wee, with support from Ministry of Trade and Industry (Singapore) and all partner agencies and organisations for their valuable contributions to the programme. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Bhutan and supporting its efforts to advance sustainable and inclusive economic development.
