Imagine waking up every single day dreading school, feeling completely invisible, and battling the heavy weight of loneliness and taunting by schoolmates.

That was the daily reality for 15-year-old Yi Xuan, until she walked through the doors of The GRIT Project and found her second home.

Yi Xuan’s incredible journey of growth, academic triumph, and emotional resilience proves that a little understanding, consistent mentoring, and a safe space can rewrite a young person’s future.

You can empower more deserving youths like Yi Xuan to discover their own grit and be a vital lifeline for lasting change.

Through our campaign “Towards a Brave Future”, we are raising crucial funds for The GRIT Project, which has served as a vital sanctuary for 365 youths and 658 children in the past year alone.

How you can make a difference: Donate $200 to fund 2 months’ of activities and sports to engage an at-risk youth.

Donations received during our approved campaign period from 06 May 2026 to 31 Dec 2026 are eligible for matching under Tote Board's Enhanced Fundraising Programme, subject to programme terms and conditions.

Make a donation today to help our children and youths stand tall: https://lakeside.org.sg/support-us/towards-a-brave-future/?utm_source=Facebook+&utm_medium=Social+&utm_campaign=TBF+Yi+Xuan&utm_content=TBF+Yi+Xuan

How does a homebody become the life of the party?

64-year-old Mdm Soh once described herself as a reserved and fearful person. That changed when she began her volunteering journey 15 years ago, when we invited her to cook for our seniors’ programme, which inspired her to start giving back.

When entrusted with responsibilities, Mdm Soh feels happy and appreciated. She enjoys planning games, preparing meals, and assisting seniors with exercise. She motivates seniors who are shy or hesitant to participate. Inspired by her dedication, her friends and neighbours flocked to join Kaki Kampong Seniors Wellness (KKSW) and take up volunteering too. Even her husband started contributing by driving seniors with mobility issues to our programmes.

Mdm Soh is deeply encouraged by the love and support she receives from the seniors, many of whom have become her friends. Now a role model among volunteers, she has truly come out of her shell, made so many feel welcome and turned strangers into friends. Stories like hers remind us of the importance of creating a sense of purpose and belonging for seniors.

Through KKSW, seniors are empowered to stay active, do good in the community, and reach out to isolated and vulnerable seniors. You can help us sustain the KKSW community by giving to our Lakeside Charity Golf and Dinner 2026.

Sponsor a golf flight, dinner table, or give a cash donation of any amount now!

$500 can provide 15 active seniors and 5 vulnerable seniors with 2 months’ programmes and activities to improve their well-being and enhance social connectedness: https://lakeside.org.sg/support-us/lakeside-charity-golf-and dinner-2026/?utm_source=Facebook+&utm_medium=Social+Ads&utm_campaign=Golf+Hong+Lian&utm_content=Golf+Hong+Lian

For years, Jie Yang lived in the background. With his parents focused on his younger brother's medical care, he felt overlooked. That quiet resentment soon turned into stress, anxiety, and acting out at home.

He did not need to be reprimanded. He just needed to be seen and heard.

Through .lakeside, Jie Yang finally found an environment where he belonged. He learned to navigate his complex emotions and manage his anxiety.

Today, that quiet boy has transformed into a confident, communicative child who even volunteers to help his peers.

The right support at the right time completely changes a life.

Donate $300 to engage 3 children meaningfully over the school holidays (8 sessions).

Join us in making a big change with one small act of kindness. Give them the safe space they need to grow today at https://lakeside.org.sg/support-us/towards-a-brave-future/?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=social+ads&utm_campaign=Towards+a+Brave+Future&utm_content=Post1

Sometimes all it takes is a small gesture to ignite the quiet courage within a young person.

We see the incredible resilience of our children and youths in our work every single day. We know how meaningful your encouragement and support can be to them, and we invite you to join our movement by extending a hand of hope.

Whether it is a single word written on your palm or a heartfelt phrase held high on a piece of paper, your encouragement provides the support our young people need to keep moving forward.

📸Snap a photo with your message of hope, tag us and to show our children and youths that they have a whole community standing right behind them.

Most of all, give them the support by starting a fundraiser and invite your friends to support us!

What if you could change a young person’s future with one small act?

For many of the children and youths we serve, challenges at home and in school can weigh heavily on them which can adversely affect their confidence, decisions, and future.

With the right support and guidance, we believe they can navigate these challenges. The “Towards a Brave Future” campaign seeks to raise funds for this purpose, to help disadvantaged children and troubled youths.

We provide mentorship and guidance to develop their strengths and help them overcome challenges. We facilitate new experiences and opportunities that they would otherwise not have. We broaden their horizons and open their eyes to a world of full possibilities and a future to aspire to.

Every young person can steer their lives towards a brighter future. A donation of $200 can fund 2 months of youth activities and sports for an at-risk youth, providing a safe and positive outlet for engagement and mentorship. Would you be the wind in their sails today?

As the saying goes, “Life is not always smooth sailing.” This is especially true for the children and youths we serve. Many of them are struggling in school, trying to meet expectations, and dealing with pressures that may lead them towards harmful choices. Some of them come from disadvantaged b...

To the uninitiated, golfing terminology like "putt", "stroke", and "swing" can be confusing. Who's Mulligan and why do they keep calling for him? Also, since when were birds involved? Take our quiz on golf lingo and comment your score out of 8 below!

If you got all 8 questions correct, it’s a sign to join our Charity Golf tournament on Friday, 31 July at the Laguna National Golf Resort Club!

If you don't know much about golf, you can still do good by joining our Charity Dinner, which takes place on the same day.

Proceeds from the Lakeside Charity Golf & Dinner 2026 will go to our work with ex-prisoners and their families, at-risk children and youths, seniors (including the isolated), and troubled families. Your generous contributions enable us to continue changing lives that might otherwise be forgotten.

🎁 Giving is one of the most beautiful ways in which we touch another person’s life. It’s an act that brings hope and transforms lives, reminding others that they are not forgotten. It is through giving that we become part of a bigger story where kindness spreads and hearts are uplifted.

Our Season of Giving campaign this Christmas is themed “It is more blessed to give than to receive”, and through it we hope to ignite the true meaning of the season by encouraging our friends to make a difference in the lives of those in need. Your generous donation will contribute to festive love gifts for those struggling financially, and support our non-funded work for children, youths, seniors, families, and the incarcerated.

Every donation is more than a gift. It’s a lifeline, a dream fulfilled, and a hope restored. With your generosity, families will have meals to share, children will feel the joy of receiving, and individuals facing struggles will know that they are not alone.

This Christmas, let’s choose to give and make the season brighter for everyone. Give now: https://lakeside.org.sg/support-us/donate/season-of-giving/

All donations are eligible for dollar-for-dollar matching by the government’s Enhanced Fundraising (EFR) Programme.
