Remembering our shared history through the harmony of song.

Last Friday, High Commissioner Mudie along with members of the Australian Defence Force were pleased to attend and support Heritage in Harmony—a collaboration between the Australian International School and HeritageSG that brought the Changi Souvenir Song Album to life.

Performed by talented AIS students, the songs were written by Australian prisoners of war Ray Tullipan and Slim de Grey during their time in Changi. Created to sustain morale and foster hope amid immense hardship, the music stands as a powerful testament to resilience, courage and the enduring human spirit.

Thank you to Australian International School , HeritageSG and the Changi Chapel and Museum for partnering on this meaningful project and for including Australia in commemorating an important chapter of Singapore’s history.

The event also reflected the deep bonds between Australia and Singapore, and the enduring defence partnership built on decades of friendship, trust and shared service.

Australia is advancing women’s economic participation, not only as a development objective but also as an economic imperative.

Deputy High Commissioner Emily Follett presented remarks at the GPCA’s third annual Women in Private Capital Executive Workshop welcome reception, adding that stronger representation of women in leadership, investment decision making and entrepreneurship contributes to better business outcomes, stronger governance, improved innovation and more resilient economies.

The executive workshop brought together 55 investors around the theme, “Women as the Opportunity: Building Stronger Funds in Southeast Asia,” allowing investors to exchange practical approaches to gender lens investing and explore how gender-diverse teams and portfolios can contribute to stronger fund and business performance.

The workshop was held with support from Investing in Women and built on GPCA’s regional efforts, including last year’s Southeast Asia Women Investors Directory, which showcased 365 women investment professionals, with more than half representing Singapore-based firms and financial institutions, underscoring Singapore’s role as a regional investment hub.

Australia continues to work with investors and industry partners to strengthen gender lens investing and increase investment in businesses that benefit women across Southeast Asia.

High Commissioner Mudie was thrilled to join at their official launch in Singapore to mark the firm’s first Southeast Asian presence.

Consistent with Invested: Australia’s Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040, the Australian Government has supported IFM’s Southeast Asian expansion. With a AUD 175 million investment from , IFM is deploying Australian capital to provide financing for businesses driving Southeast Asia’s economic growth.

High Commissioner Mudie hosted members of the Singapore-Australia Parliamentary Friendship Group at the High Commissioner’s Residence to exchange views on the bilateral relationship. The discussion reflected the depth of a longstanding partnership built on trust, shared interests and strong links between our institutions and people.

Last week, Singapore hosted the FIBA 3x3 U23 Youth Nations Championships 2026.

Both the Aussie men’s and women’s under-23 teams faced off against players from Bahrain and Singapore – even placing as one of the top 3 teams for the tournament.

Team Australia’s overall performance has earned their place to compete in next year’s FIBA World Cup in China.

Bravo to Team Australia and thank you Singapore for hosting!
