High Commissioner Mudie was pleased to join DFAT Secretary Jan Adams to host the latest cohort of emerging leaders from across the Indo-Pacific under the International Institute for Strategic Studies Young Leaders’ Programme.

The 39 delegates engaged in discussions on the biggest challenges facing our region and the vitality of regional cooperation.

Working together in enhancing Supply Chain Integrity!

The (ABF) and partnered with the World Customs Organisation to deliver a workshop on how to prevent our interconnected supply chains from being targeted by serious transnational organised crime earlier this year.

The workshop invited custom officers around Southeast Asia to enhance their understanding of world trade and the offshore disruptions that have significant ripple effects across all economies.

Greater supply chain integrity in the region led by Singapore and Australia results in better border security outcomes for all.

Wrapping up the first official visit of Australia’s Business Champion to Singapore Paul O’Sullivan to the Little Red Dot.

Paul met with senior decision makers and business leaders from the energy, infrastructure, healthcare, digital and financial services sectors to understand the significant potential for Australian trade and investment in Singapore, including as a hub for further regional expansion. The visit underscored the breadth of capability and the impact of Australian investment in Singapore, while highlighting opportunities to deepen cooperation with Singaporean partners. Paul will use these insights to advocate to Australian business the importance of Singapore as a trade and investment destination and partner.

Business Champions are just one of the ways in which Australia is deepening our economic ties with the Singapore and Southeast Asia, and they play an important role in delivering Invested: Australia’s Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040.
