Our Founder's Day celebrations at SAPS began two weeks earlier with a series of classroom lessons on the Lasallian values of Faith, Service and Community, and how St John Baptist de La Salle lived these values so courageously in his life.
The celebrations culminated on 15 May with a meaningful Mass celebrated by Fra. Esmond. Through his powerful and engaging homily on “Greatness”, he reminded us that true greatness lies in having a heart of service like our Founder — using what we have, what we know and who we are to love others better and build one another up. He also reminded us that each of us is wonderfully made in the image of God, gifted with the ability to make a difference in the lives of others.
Following Mass, students participated in classroom activities centred on Faith, Service and Community, continuing to reflect on what it means to live as Lasallians in our daily lives.
The day ended on a high note with an interactive skit put together by our Student Ministry Leaders, with the school community joyfully responding by singing parts of the Glorious Patron. The energy, participation and spirit from the audience were truly heartwarming. As the hall resounded with the singing of “We Are Lasallian”, it became a deeply moving and unforgettable climax to the celebration — one that touched many hearts, and even brought some to tears.
