The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) was established on 2 February 1996, with the mission to develop Singapore as a premier global hub port and international maritime centre (IMC), and to advance and safeguard Singapore's strategic maritime interests. MPA is the driving force behind Singapore's port and maritime development, taking on the roles of Port Authority, Port Regulator, Port

Planner, IMC Champion, and National Maritime Representative. MPA partners the industry and other agencies to enhance safety, security and environmental protection in our port waters, facilitate port operations and growth, expand the cluster of maritime ancillary services, and promote maritime R&D and manpower development. Posts containing the following will be deleted at the discretion of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore:

- violent, obscene, profane, hateful, derogatory, or racist comments, content, links or images

- comments that defame any one or any organisation

โ€™s Digital & Data Science Division wrapped up another Citizen Developer Brown Bag session!

The session featured tools such as the OCEANS-X platform, Data Discovery Platform, and Power Platform, supporting our digital transformation journey.

A highlight was a live, Kahoot-style quiz built in Power Apps, alongside sharing on how existing tools like Teams, SharePoint Lists, and Power BI can be integrated to improve daily workflows.

Beyond building apps, the session reflects MPAโ€™s efforts to build digital skills across the workforce, including in emerging areas like generative and low-code tools. Huge thanks to the team for turning ideas into impactful solutions ๐Ÿš€

Today, officially launched two new maritime tours at Voyage Beyond Exhibition โ€” the Sultan Shoal Lighthouse Tour and View of PSA Container Terminal. The launch was officiated by Senior Minister of State for Law and Transport Mr Murali Pillai, who kicked things off by presenting a commemorative boarding pass to Sea Scout representative Mr Loh Chee Hwa.

Nominations for the MPA Safety@Sea Awards 2026 are now open!

Owners/operators of ocean-going ships are invited to submit nominations for the "Outstanding Contributions to Search and Rescue Efforts in 2025" Award.

The awards are presented by to recognise the outstanding efforts of organisations who have contributed towards ensuring safety at sea. The qualifying period for nominations covers search and rescue efforts conducted from 1 Jan to 31 Dec 2025.

Submissions will be reviewed by the National Maritime Safety at Sea Council (NMSSC) and the winners will be announced during Singapore Safety@Sea Week from 17 to 21 Aug 2026.
