India’s exports recorded their fastest growth in over four years in August, rising 26% to $43.8 billion. Strong performance in electronics, engineering goods and petroleum exports helped drive the surge, while the trade deficit narrowed to a five-month low of $26.9 billion, reflecting the growing strength of India’s manufacturing and export ecosystem.

India’s 2,843-km Dedicated Freight Corridor network is now fully operational, separating freight movement from passenger services and easing pressure on conventional railway routes. With freight trains averaging over 50 kmph, the network is expected to improve logistics efficiency while freeing capacity for faster and additional passenger services.
