The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) is a uniformed organisation under the purview of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The main role of SCDF is to provide fire-fighting, rescue and emergency medical services; mitigating hazardous materials incidents, as well as formulate, implement and enforce regulations on fire safety and civil defence shelter matters.

[Final update: Fire @ 3, Gul Crescent]

Earlier today (12 June) at about 3am, SCDF was alerted to a fire at the above-mentioned location.

The fire involved waste materials and chemicals contained within a warehouse.

At the height of the operation, 20 emergency vehicles and about 80 personnel were deployed to the incident.

SCDF firefighters surrounded the affected warehouse with seven water jets, two firefighting machines and two aerial monitors to contain the fire. The fire was extinguished at about 10am.

As a precautionary measure, SCDF conducted monitoring at the scene and did not detect any hazardous substances.

Damping down operations* are expected to continue through the day.

There were no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

*Damping down refers to the application of water to wet burnt surfaces immediately after a fire is put out. It is to prevent any potential rekindle of fire from the hot burnt surfaces.

At about 3am, SCDF was alerted to a fire at the abovementioned location. SCDF is at the scene conducting firefighting operations.

The fire involved a warehouse measuring about one football field.

SCDF firefighters are at work with seven water jets, two firefighting machines and an aerial monitor.

The fire is confined to the warehouse.

There are no reported injuries at the time of this post.

[A Life Saved Together With A Community First Responder]

On 28 March 2026, at about 12:50pm, off-duty SCDF Emergency Medical Technician SGT3 Mohamed Arsaath s/o Mohamed Iqbal was visiting a relative's home in Jurong West when Mr Abdul Kaffur S/O Mohamed Hussain, a family friend, collapsed and exhibited abnormal breathing. Recognising the symptoms of suspected cardiac arrest, SGT3 Arsaath immediately began chest compressions.

Community First Responder Mr Lee Hing Kit was alerted to the incident via the myResponder app. He quickly retrieved a nearby Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and arrived at the scene to assist. Due to their actions, Mr Kaffur began showing signs of life, including regaining consciousness before the arrival of SCDF’s Emergency Medical Services and was subsequently conveyed to hospital.

Thanks to their timely lifesaving actions, Mr Kaffur is alive today.

On 28 May 2026, Mr Lee Hing Kit was presented with the SCDF Community Lifesaver Award by AC Quah Chee Onn Dennis, Commander, 4th SCDF Division.

[Final update: Fire @ 11 Cove Drive]

At about 8:10am today (7 June), SCDF was alerted to a fire at the abovementioned location.

The fire involved a yacht berthed at a pontoon.

SCDF land based resources arrived at the scene in 7 minutes and deployed a water jet from the pontoon to fight the fire, which had fully engulfed the yacht.

During the firefighting effort, the yacht started drifting away from the pontoon, and the call was made to activate an SCDF Marine Vessel for support. At the height of the firefighting operation, two water jets from the pontoon and one water monitor from the SCDF Marine Vessel were deployed.

There are no reported injuries.

At about 8:10am today (7 June), SCDF was alerted to a fire at the abovementioned location.

The fire involved a yacht which was fully engulfed.

SCDF land based resources arrived at scene in 7 minutes and immediately deployed a water jet from the pontoon to fight the fire.

During the initial firefighting effort, the yacht started drifting away from its berthing. An SCDF Marine Vessel was also deployed as part of the firefighting operation.

The fire is now under control, and firefighters are continuing to apply water and damp down the yacht.

There are no reported injuries at the time of this post.

[Fire @ Block 439 Choa Chu Kang Avenue 4]

On 31 May 2026 at about 1:20pm, SCDF was alerted to a fire at the abovementioned location.

Upon arrival, the living room of a 14th floor unit was on fire. The fire was extinguished with two water jets. As a result of the fire, the entire unit sustained heat and smoke damage.

Four persons from the affected block were assessed by a paramedic for smoke inhalation and were conveyed to Singapore General Hospital.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The top three causes of residential fires are caused by unattended cooking, electrical faults, and lighted materials left unattended. To prevent such fires, residents are strongly advised not to leave cooking unattended even for a short period, avoid overloading power sockets, and not to leave devices charging overnight. They should ensure that lighted materials such as incense, candles or ci******es are never left unattended, and are fully extinguished before disposal.

Update: A firefighter was assessed for back pain and conveyed to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital as a precaution. The firefighter was discharged from the hospital on the same day (31 May).

[Rescue995 - From Teaching CPR to Saving a Life]

As an SCDF National Serviceman at 4th SCDF Division’s Community Engagement Branch, CPL Muhammad Nur Syafiq Bin Ismail teaches members of the public lifesaving skills such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED).

On 6 February 2026, the skills that he regularly taught came in useful when he joined two other Community First Responders (CFRs) to save a man who had collapsed from cardiac arrest.

Together, the three CFRs administered CPR and AED until SCDF paramedics arrived. Thanks to their timely assistance, the patient survived.

Their actions showed how members of the community can make a difference and save lives during emergencies.
