the Singapore-New Zealand Agreement on Trade in Essential Supplies (AOTES) is the world's first legally-binding bilateral supply chain resilience agreement?
Signed on 4 May 2026, both countries have agreed to not impose unnecessary export restrictions on essential supplies under the AOTES. This will help to ensure that essential supplies, such as food, fuel, healthcare, chemical and construction products, continue to flow between our two countries, even during times of disruption.
Singapore will continue to work with like-minded trading partners to ensure that trade continues to flow unimpeded and keep global supply chains open.
