Every opportunity can open a new door. 💙

For Shiaw Ying, building a pathway towards employment has been a journey of learning, growth and gaining confidence.

Since joining MINDS Regional Hub (Queenstown) in 2021, he has gained valuable workplace experience in the food and beverage industry. Today, he is continuing to build his skills and independence through a job trial, with support from his Job Coach as he works towards open employment.

His journey reminds us that inclusion is about creating opportunities for Persons with Intellectual Disability to learn, work, grow and participate meaningfully in the community.

Colours of Inclusivity is MINDS’ annual fundraising campaign that celebrates inclusion and champions a more inclusive Singapore. Your support helps MINDS create opportunities for more Persons with Intellectual Disability to develop their skills, build confidence and pursue greater independence.

💙 This International Day of Charity, make your contribution count. Donate today and help create more opportunities for inclusion.

What does it actually take to make a workplace inclusive?

At MINDS, inclusive employment means working with both employees and employers to consider the right role, support and workplace environment for Persons with Intellectual Disability to thrive.

It’s a theme that carries into MINDS Film Festival 2026. In Please Stand By, Wendy is a young woman with autism who works at Cinnabon while pursuing her dream of becoming a scriptwriter, exploring work, independence and ambition as parts of a much bigger life.

POV: You ordered one curry… 🍛

…but behind that one plate? A whole team. 💙 That’s what the Inclusion Challenge is about — bringing people together to turn simple ideas into fundraising activities that support Persons with Intellectual Disability and their families.

Your team could:
🍛 Run a food stall
🎨 Sell your creations
🎵 Put on a performance
🏃 Organise a challenge
💡 Or create something completely your own

Got an idea? Team up with 2–5 people and bring it to life.

👥 Form your team
💡 Create your fundraising activity
❤️ Launch your campaign and rally support
