Ambassador Medardo G. Macaraig welcomed Ambassador Fernando Julio Antonio Quirรณs Campos of the Republic of Peru to Singapore, at the Embassy this morning.
During the call, the two Ambassadors reaffirmed the longstanding friendship between the Philippines and Peru, noting the historical, cultural, and people-to-people ties that have linked the two countries, including exchanges associated with the Manila Galleon trade. Ambassador Macaraig the recent reopening of the Peruvian Embassy in Manila, a testament to the renewed momentum in the Philippines-Peru bilateral relations.
Ambassador Macaraig and Ambassador Quirรณs exchanged views on ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including trade and investment, agriculture, sustainable energy, disaster preparedness, and cultural exchanges. They also recognized the complementary strengths of the Philippine and Peruvian economies and the potential to pursue practical cooperation initiatives that support inclusive growth.
