School was founded in 1955 during the British Protectorate era of Singapore. Located near a beach (Labrador Beach) and close by to a Malay residential kampung, It's student comprises a good mix of Chinese, Malay and Indian. It boast of its unique architecture with the classrom on a double storey terrance that runs along 10 classrooms per level. It faces a big school field shared by Labradora nd Ba

tu Belayar Primary School. This school however was relieved of its role in 2000, leaving its unique building and surrounding to be utilized as Labrador Adventure Camp on 16th September 2000. Words are that the building itself would be demolish to make way for other development. Some of its product include the late Hj Mansor Sukaimi, C Kunalan (Athletic), Rozani Maarof (Mountaineer), James Wong (Athletic), Rusli Tanjung (Sepak Takraw), Jamal Omar (Sepak Takraw), Syed Mohamed Salim (Badminton) and Sohaimi Khamis (Sepaktakraw). Its Cadet Corp is one of the finest, winning the prestigious Haddon Cup (Drill and Discipline) for many consecutive years, beating reknown Raffles Institution and Gan Eng Seng School. The school song 'The Duyong Rides' is reflected in its annual magazine 'The Duyong' (which means mermaid in Malay).
