Over the last weekend, the Security Industry Institute (SII) successfully conducted its inaugural intake for the Advanced Traffic Control Management (ATCM) module.

As the first intake of its kind in Singapore, this marks an important milestone for SII as we continue to support the security industry through relevant training and upskilling opportunities.

The ATCM module equips security officers with the knowledge and skills to take on more complex traffic control duties, preparing them for the evolving demands of the security industry.

🚦 A New Opportunity for Security Officers in Traffic Management

On Security Officer Day, 24 July 2026, Mr Kelvin Goh, President of the Security Association Singapore (SAS), announced an important development for the security industry.

Following a review by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) and Traffic Police, security officers of the appropriate PWM grade will be able to take on more complex traffic control situations that were previously handled by Auxiliary Police Officers.

From January 2027, eligible security officers will be required to complete the Advanced Crowd & Traffic Control WSQ module and the required On-the-Job Training (OJT) before they can be deployed for these expanded traffic management duties.
