Turning insights into project pipelines.

Over the past two days, Business China Chairman Mr Lee Yi Shyan and our Singapore business delegation visited Hohhot’s key growth sectors to identify project collaboration opportunities. As different as Singapore and Inner Mongolia may be, there are opportunities for partnerships in a few areas.

⚡ Clean Energy & Advanced Materials: Evaluated cutting-edge photovoltaic, silicon-related, and large-scale energy projects at Xinhuan Silicon Energy, and Inner Mongolia Energy Group.

🥛 Dairy & Biotechnology: Explored global strengths in dairy manufacturing, nutrition science, and advanced biotech applications at Mengniu Group and Koto Biotech.

💻 Digital Economy & Emerging Industries: Assessed rapid advancements in intelligent computing, digital infrastructure, and institutional innovation at the China Mobile Intelligent Computing Centre, Horinger New Area, and the Pilot Free Trade Zone.

Seeing these operations firsthand helped business leaders understand where Singapore's expertise and Inner Mongolia's industrial scale can create immediate and mutual value. We hope that these opportunities can be turned into partnerships.

近日，通商中国主席李奕贤及新加坡企业代表团走访了呼和浩特多个重点产业领域，进一步了解当地发展情况，并探索合作机会。新加坡与内蒙古在发展条件、产业基础和优势领域上各具特点，也因此在多个领域展现出合作的空间。

⚡ 清洁能源与先进材料：代表团走访了内蒙古鑫环硅能科技有限公司及内蒙古能源集团，了解当地在光伏材料、硅材料相关产业及大型能源项目方面的发展情况。

🥛 乳业与生物科技：代表团也参访了蒙牛集团及内蒙古科拓生物有限公司，进一步了解呼和浩特在乳制品制造、营养健康及生物科技应用方面的产业优势。

💻 数字经济与新兴产业：代表团也考察了中国移动智算中心、内蒙古和林格尔新区及中国（内蒙古）自由贸易试验区呼和浩特片区，了解当地在智能算力、数字基础设施及制度创新方面的发展进展。
通过实地参访，新加坡企业代表更直观地了解呼和浩特的产业优势与发展机遇，也为双方进一步探索具体、可落地的合作机会奠定基础。希望看到这次考察中所找到的机遇能转化为实质的合作项目。

🎓 BCYK 2026 Student Edition has come to a close!

From 15 to 17 June, post-secondary students from across Singapore came together at Hwa Chong Institution (College Section) to explore contemporary China, Singapore-China relations, and the role of Chinese language beyond the classroom.

Through expert sharing sessions, corporate visits to CHAGEE, Yuewen and Tuya, youth dialogues, and hands-on cultural activities, participants gained fresh perspectives on China's development, innovation, culture, and the opportunities available to youths in an increasingly interconnected world.

From discovering the realities of studying and working in China, to understanding how language and culture can open doors across industries, we hope BCYK has inspired participants to continue exploring the evolving Singapore-China landscape.

A big thank you to our speakers, partners, and participants for making this journey meaningful. We look forward to seeing where your next steps take you! ✨

🎓 乐知新中·多用华文（BCYK）2026 学生版圆满落幕！

6月15日至17日，来自全岛各地的高中与理工学院生齐聚华侨中学（高中部），一同探索当代中国、新中关系，以及华文在课堂之外的实际应用。

通过专题讲座、企业参访（霸王茶姬、阅文集团及涂鸦智能）、青年分享及文化体验活动，参与者从不同角度认识中国的发展、创新与文化，并了解在全球联系日益紧密的时代下，青年所面临的发展机遇与广阔前景。

从了解在中国学习、生活与发展的真实体验，到思考语言与文化如何成为连接不同领域与机遇的桥梁，我们希望 BCYK 能启发同学们持续关注不断深化的新中关系，拓宽国际视野，并积极探索属于自己的成长道路与未来方向。

What happens when Singapore’s urban management experience meets Inner Mongolia’s vast economic potential?

Following his participation at the 7th Qingdao Multinationals Summit in Shandong, Business China Chairman Mr Lee Yi Shyan is leading a Singapore business delegation with representatives from Keppel, Surbana Jurong and Minhai Energy to Hohhot in Inner Mongolia, a region developing its economy around sustainability, clean energy and green electricity transmission.

As part of the visit, Chairman Lee met Mr Su He, Vice Chairman of the People’s Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The engagement provided a valuable opportunity to exchange views on strengthening Singapore–Inner Mongolia cooperation on trade and investment, industry collaboration, youth exchanges, culture and tourism, and connectivity. They discussed opportunities arising from the development of the China (Inner Mongolia) Pilot Free Trade Zone, the upcoming Hohhot Shengle International Airport, and the potential for more Singapore companies to explore Inner Mongolia’s growth areas, including sustainability, clean energy and regional development.

We look forward to seeing these discussions translate into partnerships that will propel both economies toward a shared, sustainable future.

继出席在山东举行的第七届跨国公司领导人青岛峰会后，通商中国主席李奕贤先生正率领新加坡代表团访问内蒙古呼和浩特。代表团成员包括来自吉宝、盛裕集团和闽海能源的代表。内蒙古目前正围绕可持续发展、清洁能源和绿色发电等关键领域积极推动经济转型。

访问期间，李奕贤主席会见了内蒙古自治区人民政府副主席苏和。此次会晤为双方围绕经贸投资、产业合作、青年交流、文化旅游及互联互通等领域深入交流提供了良好平台。双方也就中国（内蒙古）自由贸易试验区建设、呼和浩特盛乐国际机场即将投运，以及新加坡企业了解内蒙古在可持续发展、新能源及区域发展等领域的机遇交换建议，进一步探讨如何助力新加坡与内蒙古企业拓展商机、深化合作。

Building on the discussions at the 7th Qingdao Multinationals Summit, the focus turned to empowering Chinese enterprises for global success. 🌐✨

Business China Chairman Mr Lee Yi Shyan participated in the Shandong Provincial Government Economic Advisory Meeting, where global advisors discussed Shandong’s open cooperation opportunities under the 15th Five-Year Plan.

Speaking as an Economic Advisor to the Shandong Provincial Government, Chairman Lee shared how local enterprises can leverage Singapore’s open ecosystem, mature financial frameworks, and robust bilateral mechanisms as an ideal launchpad for global expansion. He highlighted that through Singapore as a regional hub, Shandong enterprises can look beyond exporting products to internationalise their branding, technology, and supply chains.

Business China remains deeply committed to contributing to these insightful exchanges and in supporting Singapore-Shandong partnerships to reach even greater heights. 🤝⬆️

Strategic partnerships drive future growth. 🤝🚀

Business China Chairman Mr Lee Yi Shyan is in Shandong, China to attend the 7th Qingdao Multinationals Summit.

At the Summit, he joined provincial government officials and global corporate leaders to discuss deepening international collaboration and highlighted the robust 33-year partnership anchored by the Singapore–Shandong Business Council since 1993.

He also spoke about the Sino-Singapore Jinan Future Industrial City, a hub for green development, the digital economy, and future-oriented industries. This platform offers new avenues for Singaporean and international enterprises to expand into Shandong.

Platforms like the Qingdao Multinationals Summit remain important in driving deeper economic cooperation and fostering a stronger bilateral relationship between Singapore and China. We look forward to seeing more partnerships formed through such platforms.

在峰会期间举行的山东部省负责同志集体会见上，李主席与政府官员及企业领袖就深化国际合作、推动互利共赢等议题进行了深入交流。他特别提到，自1993年新加坡—山东经贸理事会成立以来，新加坡与山东携手走过33年，双方在经贸、投资及产业合作等领域建立了坚实而深厚的伙伴关系。

李主席也介绍了中新济南未来产业城的发展愿景。作为聚焦绿色低碳发展、数字经济及未来产业的重要平台，该项目将为新加坡及国际企业开拓山东市场、深化区域合作创造更多机遇。

Strengthening connections, renewing friendships. 🇸🇬🤝🇨🇳

Business China was delighted to welcome Suzhou Mayor Mr Wang Wei and the Suzhou delegation to Singapore. Business China Chairman Mr Lee Yi Shyan met with the delegation for an engaging exchange on Suzhou’s latest developments and potential areas for deeper collaboration.

Suzhou has long played an important role in Singapore-China cooperation, with ties built on decades of collaboration and mutual learning, including through the China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park, a landmark government-to-government project. Suzhou is one of China’s leading city economies, recording GDP of RMB 2.77 trillion in 2025, growing by 5.4% year-on-year, underscoring its continued strength as a hub for advanced manufacturing, innovation and international cooperation.

As a long-standing partner of Suzhou, Business China looks forward to further strengthening mutual understanding and meaningful exchanges through initiatives such as the Advanced Leaders Programme (ALP), Youth Leaders Programme (YLP) and Youth Interns Exchange Scheme (YES).

We look forward to building on these strong ties and creating new opportunities for collaboration in the years ahead.

It was a bright and sunny morning as our Chairman, CEO, and team from Business China joined our partner Bank of China, Singapore for its Walkathon 90! ☀️🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏻‍♀️

The Walkathon, flagged off by our Chairman Mr Lee Yi Shyan from Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall, continued on a scenic route through the heart of Singapore. The enthusiasm and energy filled the air as we went past the Asian Civilisations Museum, Singapore Flyer, Gardens by the Bay and Central Business District before rounding back to the iconic Bank of China building on Battery Road – where it all started in Singapore 90 years ago.

We are proud to stand alongside Bank of China Singapore in celebrating this incredible milestone and look forward to many more years of strong partnership, shared growth, and moving forward together.
