Spent the morning with Xie Yao Quan 谢曜全 at Yuhua Place Market & Food Centre, catching up with residents and hawkers.

Met many residents who have called the area home for years, with family and friends living nearby. It was heartening to see many familiar groups gathered together, and keeping the kampung spirit alive and well!

Joined the Singapore Press Club today for the relaunch of its Eminent Speaker Series, a platform with a long history.

Instead of a traditional lecture, we had a candid and interactive Q&A session. It was a good opportunity to exchange views on the changing geopolitical landscape, Singapore’s key priorities, and how we can continue to thrive in a more complex and uncertain world.

As the world changes, Singapore’s greatest strength remains the same: our ability to stay united and move forward together as one people. The world may become more fragmented. But Singapore must become even more cohesive and resilient. That is how we keep our Singapore miracle going for generations to come.

Mr Tan Chong Meng has served on the Council of Presidential Advisers (CPA) since June 2024, and was appointed and sworn-in by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam as Chairman of the CPA.

Over the years, he has made significant contributions to Singapore’s development across the maritime, business and healthcare sectors, and through serving in various public institutions. He also played a key role in driving our nation’s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

I am confident that his insights and experience will serve Singapore well, and look forward to his and the CPA’s continued contributions.
