The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA), in consultation with the Land Transport Authority โ€“ We Keep Your World Moving, will implement a new designated bus lane along Woodlands Road, effective from 11 June 2026. This aims to facilitate more orderly queuing of vehicles, particularly during peak-hour traffic, and improve traffic flow for bus commuters travelling towards Woodlands Checkpoint.

The new bus lane will be implemented along a stretch of Woodlands Road from Kranji Lodge 1 to the junction of Woodlands Crossing. Lane markings and signage will be installed along Woodlands Road to alert motorists of the bus lane ahead.

The bus lane will operate during the following period:
โ€ข Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays)
โ€ข 7.30am to 9.30am
โ€ข 5pm to 8pm

During bus lane operating hours:
โ€ข All vehicles except buses are to keep to the rightmost lane on Woodlands Road towards Woodlands Checkpoint
โ€ข Cars and motorcycles are strongly advised to avoid Woodlands Road and enter Woodlands Checkpoint via Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE)
โ€ข The location is monitored by enforcement cameras and enforcement action will be taken against those who encroach into bus lanes

In preparation for the implementation of the bus lane, road works will be carried out from 8 to 10 June 2026, between 10pm and 4am. During this period, there will be lane closures along Woodlands Road. Motorists may expect minor delays and are advised to use BKE when entering Woodlands Checkpoint.

Motorists are reminded to obey traffic rules, maintain lane discipline and comply with checkpoint officersโ€™ instructions. Please follow ICAโ€™s page for updates.
