BCA oversees areas such as safety, quality, inclusiveness, sustainability and productivity, all of which, together with our stakeholders and partners, help to achieve our mission to transform the BE sector and shape a liveable and smart built environment for Singapore. Taking timber to a whole new level. Literally🌳

For Er. Teoh and Er. Thusi, bringing Geneo’s landmark timber canopy to life meant figuring out how its massive arches could be made, moved, connected and safely assembled.

The result? Singapore’s 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 (𝐌𝐄𝐓) 𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐲 at 27-metre – where engineering and architecture come together to create something spectacular.

Some of the coolest engineering is the kind you barely notice.

At the new CMPB, Er. Clement brought Singapore’s 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐮𝐦 to life. He found a way to support a way to seat 468 people entirely from above, keeping the public space underneath open and welcoming.

We couldn't resist asking our solution providers to make the sounds of their robots! Or at least what they think the robots sound like... 👀

Jokes aside, these robots are getting real work done alongside our Built Environment (BE) professionals. They take on repetitive and physically demanding tasks, improving productivity and making worksites safer.

The future of our BE sector sounds pretty good, doesn't it? 😉

At Enabling Village – Singapore’s first inclusive community space – accessibility and inclusivity shaped every design decision.

Transforming the former vocational school meant overcoming uneven terrain and structural barriers, while incorporating features such as tactile directories and colour contrast to help people of different abilities navigate more independently and participate more fully.

Behind this is an architectural team who design for people first – creating spaces that enable greater independence and dignity for everyone.

Marina Barrage isn’t just a place for picnics and skyline views. It’s an infrastructure built to serve our community and strengthen Singapore’s resilience for the future.

Building it meant overcoming engineering challenges, from constructing out at sea to navigating difficult ground conditions. Behind it was a project team that had to think differently and find solutions to bring this ambitious project to life.

Today, Marina Barrage supports our water supply and protects Singapore against flooding. It’s a reminder that the infrastructure we build today can help create a more resilient home for generations to come.
