A meaningful 1-hour session with Mr Luke Tan, Founder of The Hearing Room, conducted in both English & Chinese!

Our seniors learnt about hearing loss, why it is often overlooked, and how it can affect dementia risk, well-being and safety.

PCS Cedar Tree AAC Tampines West 827A was pleased to welcome a delegation of 10 representatives from the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation (KSPO) for an afternoon of learning, sharing and meaningful exchange. The visit featured a sharing by our CEO, Dr Andrew Lim, on our Active Ageing Centres (AACs), programmes and approach to active ageing, followed by a sharing from the KSPO delegation and an engaging Q&A session.

The delegation also toured the centre and observed our seniors taking part in an adaptive sports/floor curling session, offering a glimpse into how our programmes encourage active participation and social connection. The visit concluded with light refreshments prepared by our seniors, providing an opportunity for everyone to connect and network. We are grateful to KSPO for the opportunity to exchange insights and experiences on active ageing and look forward to more fruitful collaborations ahead!

Throwback to a Meaningful Weekend at PCS Cedar Tree AAC @ Tampines West!

On 29 August, shortly after the reopening of our newly refreshed centre, we were very happy to welcome our community partners back for a meaningful day of service and connection.

Together with North East CDC, Changi General Hospital and our community partners, we supported Project Refresh and the Intergenerational Health Hangout, bringing together more than 180 participants, volunteers, partners and seniors.

It was certainly a busy weekend for everyone, but seeing different partners, generations and volunteers coming together to care for our seniors made every effort worthwhile. This is what community is about working together, sharing our strengths and making a meaningful difference in the lives of our seniors.

A big thank you to all our partners, staff and volunteers who gave up their weekend to support the event. We are grateful for the strong partnership and look forward to creating many more meaningful moments for our seniors and community!

Together, we build a caring and connected community where our seniors can continue to age well.

Today, our seniors attended a bilingual Diabetes Talk on Prevention, Management and Complication Awareness, conducted by nurses from Changi General Hospital.
