A little kindness goes a long way.

As part of our Kindness Campaign, our Peer Support Leaders and students took the time to get to know our school attendants and prepared personalised caricatures and thank-you cards to show our appreciation.

Our teachers also came together to support the “Belanja a Meal” initiative, with meal vouchers for our school attendants.

Thank you for your hard work, dedication and everything you do for our school community. We appreciate you!

*Drama Club VIA Programme with Chaoyang School (APSN)*

Lights, camera, action! Our Drama Club students brought learning beyond the stage through a meaningful VIA programme with Primary 1, 4 and 5 students from Chaoyang School (APSN) on Monday, 31 August. Through two drama skits and an interactive Forum Theatre, students explored kindness, respect and empathy. They shared ideas, suggested alternative actions and considered different perspectives together with the primary school students. It was a joyful and enriching experience that strengthened connections and showed how small acts of kindness can make a positive difference. Here are two reflections shared by our Drama students:

Nur Qurratulaini binte Muhammad Azman (Sec 3)
“Working together brought our Drama Club closer, filling us with laughter and enthusiasm. Overcoming our fears through teamwork made the VIA experience unforgettable and it has ignited a renewed passion within me.”

Ezra James Lim (Sec 2)
“I really enjoyed performing at Chaoyang School (APSN). The students were respectful, attentive and eager to participate, especially during the interactive segments. I learnt a lot about forum theatre and connecting with an audience. Performing outside my school for the first time was exciting, and I would definitely love to do it again!”

📊🏆 National Accounting Challenge 2026

Our Secondary 3G3-1 and 3G3-2 POA students took on the National Accounting Challenge 2026 alongside an estimated 500 Secondary 3 POA students from 51 schools across Singapore!

During the Challenge, our students stepped into the shoes of bubble tea business owners in the Boba Mania business simulation. 🧋📈 They applied their POA knowledge and skills in a dynamic business setting while navigating challenges, making decisions and competing against one another.

It was inspiring to see our students demonstrate adaptive thinking, computational thinking and growth-mindedness, alongside valuable interpersonal competencies such as an enterprising spirit, calculated risk-taking, negotiation, stress management and emotional regulation — especially during the exciting card-trading phase and under time pressure! 💡🤝

The Challenge concluded successfully on 12 August 2026 at Republic Polytechnic. Well done to our students for embracing the challenge, thinking on their feet and putting their POA learning into action! 👏✨

🔎💰 The Case of the Vanishing Fortune

Our Secondary 3G3 and 3G2 POA students took on an exciting 2-hour detective mission through an initiative by the Central Provident Board (CPB)!

Transforming into financially savvy investigators, students solved mysteries while picking up essential financial literacy and CPF concepts along the way. 🕵️‍♀️🕵️‍♂️ The experience concluded with an educational debrief, helping students connect the clues to real-life financial decisions.

A fun and meaningful way to learn, investigate and build financial confidence! 📚✨

Yio Chu Kang Secondary School Choir Spreads the Joy of National Day!

From 23 July to 6 August 2026, the Choir carried out its Values-in-Action (VIA) project in collaboration with YCK Sparkletots.

This year, our choir members had the wonderful opportunity to work with children aged 5–6 years old, teaching them this year’s National Day song through both singing and choreography.

Over the sessions, our choir members patiently guided the children as they learnt the song and movements, building confidence, teamwork and joyful connections along the way.
The children then put what they had learnt into practice as they prepared to perform the song at their National Day Celebrations on 6 August 2026.

A meaningful VIA experience that brought together music, service and the spirit of National Day!
