On 22 May 2026, our seniors at SNM AAC@RaceCourse enjoyed a heartwarming gathering to celebrate Mother’s Day and the birthdays of our May-born seniors.

The afternoon began with a delightful spread of food, including dishes lovingly prepared by our seniors themselves. Students from the NUS Tamil Language Society (NUS TLS) then led a clay-moulding activity, where seniors designed and created their own personalised keychains. From flowers to animals and other imaginative shapes, each creation reflected their creativity and individuality.

The fun continued with a picture-guessing game featuring items from the past. The activity sparked lively conversations, fond memories, and plenty of laughter as seniors put their knowledge to the test.

Adding to the festivities was a surprise six-minute dance performance by our long-time volunteer, Poh Sun Wei. His energetic performance brought smiles and cheers, making the celebration even more memorable for everyone.

A heartfelt thank you to the students from NUS TLS for their enthusiasm and thoughtful planning, and to Poh Sun Wei for his continued dedication and for bringing so much joy to our seniors. ❤

SNM AAC@Race Course Conducts Outreach Programme at Kent Road

On 16 May 2026, SNM AAC@Race Course, together with volunteers from the National Youth Council (NYC), organised an outreach activity at Kent Road to encourage seniors and their caregivers to take part in healthy and active ageing programmes. Through the outreach, we connected with nearly 250 seniors in the community.

As part of the event, seniors and their caregivers were invited to join a lively Zumba and strength training session at the Pavilion at Blk 51 Kent Road, led by our dedicated volunteer, Prema. The activities were well received, with close to 30 participants taking part enthusiastically.

Following the exercise session, everyone enjoyed a Nasi Lemak lunch and received goodie bags. The gathering provided a welcoming opportunity for seniors and caregivers to stay active, interact with one another, and strengthen their connections within the community.

Many participants shared positive feedback, expressing how much they enjoyed the activities and appreciated the opportunity to exercise and socialise together. ❤

On 15 May 2026, our lively seniors from SNM AAC (Care) joined an intergenerational engagement programme at Huamin Primary School. Organised by Sport Singapore under the ActiveX Initiative, the programme brought seniors and students together through adaptive sports and interactive activities.

Our seniors were grouped into mixed teams with the students and participated in three adaptive sports — Seated Floorball, Boccia, and Ladder Toss. Guided by student leaders and Sport Singapore facilitators, the activities encouraged teamwork, laughter, and meaningful connections across generations.

The seniors and students also worked together to design National Day-themed pennants. Through creativity and collaboration, they created colourful keepsakes to bring home.

We would like to thank Sport Singapore and Huamin Primary School for giving our seniors the opportunity to be part of this meaningful programme. Everyone had an enjoyable time staying active and bonding with the students. ❤

After their strong showing at last year’s competition, our energetic seniors from SNM AAC (Care) were back in action at the North Area Qualifiers of the Seniors National Games 2026, held at the OCBC Sports Hub on 2 June 2026. 🏑

Their annual participation is a wonderful reflection of their enthusiasm for active ageing and their passion for staying active, connected, and engaged through sports.

This year, our seniors proudly competed in four events—Boccia, Ladder Toss, Disc Golf, and Seated Floorball. The teams were guided by Mr Yong Hock (Boccia), Mdm Boon Eeng (Ladder Toss), Mr Boon (Disc Golf), and Mr Beh, who once again led our returning Seated Floorball champions in their title defence.

Adding to the excitement, our seniors proudly took to the court in eye-catching orange and silver team uniforms designed by staff member Ms Phin Lee. The uniforms featured the inspiring slogan, “One Team, One Goal, One Spirit,” capturing the unity, determination, and camaraderie shared by the team.

Beyond designing the uniforms, Ms Phin also played a key role in coordinating the team's participation and supporting the Seated Floorball team during their training sessions.

Throughout the competition, our seniors displayed tremendous teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship. The Boccia team worked closely together and demonstrated excellent team spirit, while the Disc Golf team delivered a commendable performance. The Ladder Toss team secured an impressive fourth-place finish through their determination and teamwork.

The highlight of the day came when our Seated Floorball team successfully defended their title, emerging once again as the North Area Champions. We are incredibly proud of their achievement and look forward to cheering them on at the Grand Final on 4 August 2026.

We celebrate every senior who took part in the games and represented SNM AAC (Care) with such dedication, resilience, and sportsmanship. A special thank you also goes to Ms Emis and the vendor team for ensuring the uniforms were completed and delivered on time, helping our seniors take the court with confidence and pride. ❤

Ahmad Ibrahim Secondary Students Visit SNM Nursing Home@Riverwalk

On 25 May 2026, students from Ahmad Ibrahim Secondary School’s Class 306 visited SNM Nursing Home@Riverwalk for a fun and meaningful activity session with our residents.

Using games and materials available at our facility, the students and residents bonded over activities such as Jenga, carom, and five stones. The session was filled with laughter, friendly competition, and warm conversations as many residents fondly recalled playing these games in their younger days.

The students showed patience, respect, and enthusiasm throughout the visit, creating a lively and inclusive atmosphere for everyone involved. The interaction brought joy to our residents while giving the students a valuable opportunity to connect with seniors and learn from their experiences.

We thank Ahmad Ibrahim Secondary School for organising this visit and look forward to more opportunities to bring our communities together. ❤
