Be aware of scammers impersonating telco representatives and government officers. Victims are falsely told that their telco account was used to sign up for new lines or devices, before being transferred to individuals posing as “government officials”.

If you receive such a call, hang up and verify by calling your telco's hotline directly. Do not transfer any funds or share personal information with anyone.

Report any suspicious activities to the police immediately. For scam-related advice, call the anti-scam helpline at 1799 or go to www.scamshield.gov.sg.

Digital safety standards are evolving, and app stores are leading the charge 🧠💬

Real online safety takes more than just app updates, it takes a system that protects and empowers. Designated app stores have age assurance measures in place, creating safer digital environments for users under 18.

Online spaces should feel like playgrounds; open, creative, and safe.

A historic first for Singapore animation.

The Violinist, produced by Singapore’s Robot Playground Media, has been selected for the Main Competition at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2026 - the first Singapore-produced feature film to do so in the festival’s 65-year history. 🌏

Widely regarded as the world’s leading animation festival, Annecy’s top competition showcases only a small number of the year’s most significant animated films. 🎬✨

Set across Singapore and Malaya in the early 20th century, this hand-drawn feature tells a story of friendship, love, war and memory through the enduring power of music. Directed by Ervin Han and Raul Garcia, it is a co-production between Singapore, Spain and Italy, supported by IMDA. 🌟

The Violinist premieres at Annecy this June.

Sometimes, the best stories that reach the world are the ones that feel closest to home.

Emerald Hill's wins at Star Awards last night cap off an incredible year for the cast and crew. This Made With SG series reached over 1.6M viewers in 2025 and held the Top 10 spot on Netflix in Singapore and Malaysia for four consecutive weeks. It was also the first Mediacorp Chinese drama to reach No. 1 on Netflix Singapore.

Supported by IMDA, Emerald Hill is one of the key productions to commemorate SG60. Congrats to the cast and production team for bringing Singapore stories to the world! 🏆✨

🚨 Strengthening efforts to protect young users online 🛡️

From 1 April 2026, designated app stores in Singapore, Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Huawei App Gallery, Microsoft Store, Samsung Galaxy Store, must protect young users under 18 by implementing age assurance measures. This means no more downloading age-inappropriate apps!

What you need to know:
✅ Age Checks: App stores can use age verification, age estimation, or age inference—whatever works best for them. You may encounter these measures at different points when using your app store.
✅ Data Protection: All age checks are done with strong safeguards to keep your information safe. 🔒

With a high level of digital pe*******on and use of online services among young users, online safety has never been more critical. Discover how IMDA’s Code of Practice – App Distribution Services ensures that these platforms protect young users: https://go.gov.sg/ageassurance

Are Singaporeans really safe on social media? 🤔 Get the answers from our latest Online Safety Assessment Report! 📊

The report assesses how designated social media platforms are protecting users from harmful content.

Most platforms have stepped up, responding to harmful content faster and more often. ✅

But there’s still work to be done. We issued Letters of Caution to X and TikTok and placed them under Enhanced Supervision to improve their efforts in detecting and removing child sexual exploitation and abuse material and terrorism content respectively, keeping such content out of your feed. ⚠️

Online risks are always changing, and we’re holding the platforms accountable to keep users safe. 💪
