The WSH Council is pleased to support the Advanced Manufacturing Employees' Union (AMEU) at its recent event under the Work Safe Initiative.

The event brought together employers, workers, WSH practitioners, union leaders and technology providers to explore how robotics and technology can help reduce workplace risks, improve ergonomics, and strengthen worker safety and well-being in the advanced manufacturing sector.

We applaud AMEU for its continued efforts to raise WSH awareness and encourage the adoption of practical, deployable solutions, and look forward to working with industry stakeholders to build safer, smarter and more resilient workplaces. 💪

Ahead of July, when the construction, manufacturing and transport & storage industries typically experience seasonally higher injury rates, the WSH Council urges all companies to remain vigilant and step up measures to safeguard workers’ safety and health.

Companies should strengthen efforts to prevent the common factors contributing to workplace incidents, such as:

💦 Slips, trips, and falls (STF);
⚠️ Falls from height (FFH);
🔧 Failure of structures and equipment;
⚙️ Machine-related incidents; and
🚚 Vehicle-related incidents.

Warmer and drier months may be ahead for Singapore. According to the Meteorological Service Singapore, such conditions are expected from June to October, alongside an increased risk of transboundary haze.

As temperatures rise, so do risks. In hot working environments, pushing through fatigue may seem productive, but it can increase the risk of mistakes, impaired judgement, and heat stress.

🎙️ In Part 1 of our “Let's Talk: Changing Skies, Changing Risks at Work” episode, our guests discuss why rest breaks matter, common misconceptions about productivity, and what organisations can do to better protect workers in a warming climate.

𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲𝐬 — 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥-𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭

Technology improves safety only when it makes a real difference on the ground. The value lies not in the tool itself, but in how it helps teams spot risks earlier, make better decisions, and act quickly when it matters most.

Gain first-hand insights into how leading organisations strengthen workplace safety and health (WSH) through innovative technologies, systems and operational practices, on 22 July 2026, ahead of the Conference. These learning journeys offer a glimpse into how organisations apply innovative solutions to improve their workplace practices.

Experience the human-centred side of innovation:
- Frontline teams using information effectively without overload
- Leaders and supervisors providing clarity on next actions
- Systems that turn insights into safer decisions and real workplace improvements

If your organisation is exploring how to make technology adoption practical, scalable and meaningful, these learning journeys are where 𝑰𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝑰𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒕 truly comes alive.

We were pleased to strengthen our partnership with the Singapore Logistics Association (SLA) at its 52nd Annual General Meeting through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the WSH Awards.

Through this partnership, we will continue to work together to recognise workplace safety and health excellence through the annual WSH Awards, while supporting the outreach and evaluation of applications for the WSH Innovation Awards and WSH Awards for Supervisors.

Thank you, SLA, for your continued support in championing workplace safety and health. Together, we can advance workplace safety and health capabilities, promote good practices, and support safer and healthier workplaces across the Transportation & Storage industry.
