WeLL Centre came alive with double the birthday cheer as we celebrated the birthdays of our July babies! 🥳

It was a simple evening with delicious chocolate truffle and mango cakes and plenty of smiles thanks to the generous contributions of Kimmy and Matt!

The students were also split into four teams for an exciting general knowledge quiz - putting their knowledge (and teamwork!) to the test!!

A big thank you to our sponsors for the wonderful prizes and food and our dedicated tutors for helping to organise the games and making the occasion extra special for our students.

Community in colour! 🌟 Our outdoor corridor was beautifully transformed during our community mural-painting event held this morning. It was incredible to see WeLL's past & current students, collaborating closely with our community volunteers to give our walls a refreshed look. Guided by volunteer artist Anne, the team brought a vibrant landscape to life, fostering deep connections and revitalizing our shared spaces. We are always looking for passionate individuals to join our mission. In today’s world, children are often taught what to learn but not how to think. Many can memorise procedures, yet freeze the moment a question appears in a different form. Real learning, however, begins in the mind — not in the textbook.

WeLL, together with our collaborators Neuromath Academy and HIA (who also sponsored the programme), believes deeply in this principle. The Neuromath approach focuses on developing the brain’s learning system, helping children process information, make connections, and reason with clarity. When children are trained to think first, understanding becomes natural — and confidence follows.

On Saturday, 18 April, students attended the first session of the six‑module programme. Norman and Vanessa, from Neuromath Academy, will provide oversight for these small‑group sessions, which are led by trained volunteers. Our goal is to gently guide children from dependence to independence, preparing them not only for future academic challenges but also for a lifetime of confident, thoughtful learning.

Today, WeLL Centre volunteers, including student volunteers from SP and partner HIA, embarked on a transformative journey to gain profound insights into the pioneering Thinking Gym programme, directly from the founder Dr. Norman Tien. This groundbreaking training programme empowers our volunteers with a thinking-based guidance approach, setting the stage for the forthcoming Happy Learner's Thinking Gym Programme, scheduled to launch on April 18, 2026. As part of WeLL Centre's mission to bridge gaps and foster inclusivity, this innovative Thinking Gym programme aims to equip our community's students with life-changing thinking-based training, unlocking their limitless potential.
