New Hope Community Services

New Hope Community Services A social service agency in Singapore working to restore hope to the displaced and disadvantaged. A year later, New Hope Community Services (NHCS) was born.

Our work first began in 2003 when four homeless men approached Pastor Andrew (our Founder & CEO) seeking refuge. We currently run four transitional shelters around Singapore and provide various services and programmes that help our clients break out of the poverty cycle and achieve long term financial resilience and independence. Our Vision:
To be a beacon of New Hope to the displaced and disadvantaged in the community. Our Mission:
To restore HOPE to those we serve.

🎨 Where Harmony Lives, Community Thrives all

Earlier this month, the wall of SRSF were transformed into a vibrant celebration of community, creativity, and belonging.

Led by our talented volunteer, Anne Neo , and supported by dedicated volunteers from BlackRock and Cisco , this mural project brought together people from different backgrounds with a shared purpose: to create a welcoming space that reflects the spirit of SRSF.

At the heart of the mural is Harmony, SRSF's mascot, alongside the tagline, "Where Harmony Lives, Community Thrives" — a reminder that when people come together with care and purpose, communities flourish.

This is not Anne's first contribution to New Hope. She is also the creative mind behind the mural at our Transit Point @ Margaret Drive, and we are grateful to once again benefit from her creativity and generosity.

A big thank you to Anne, BlackRock, and Cisco for sharing your time, talent, and passion with us. Your contributions have left a lasting impact that will brighten the space for years to come.

What does it really take for someone to move from crisis to stability?
For many experiencing homelessness, stability does not happen overnight.
It is a journey made up of small but meaningful steps. A safe place to sleep, someone who listens, support to rebuild confidence, and opportunities to start again.

From 1 June to 31 July, we invite you to walk alongside our clients as they take each step towards rebuilding their lives.

Every contribution helps someone move one step closer toward independence, dignity, and hope.

Home isn’t always a place.
Sometimes, it’s a person.

This Mother’s Day, we honour the mothers who create warmth, safety, and love, even in the most uncertain seasons. 💛

At New Hope Community Services, we see this quiet strength every day.
Happy Mother’s Day to the women who never stop showing up for their children.

Just last Saturday, we hosted the 3rd run of our Employment Festival.

Organised by our Employment Services team from the Singapore Business Federation Foundation Job Support and Retention Programme, the event brought together dedicated partners and employers, creating a space where participants could walk in, explore opportunities, and interview on the spot.

This Labour Day, we’re reminded of the dignity of work and the importance of inclusive opportunities for all. Every conversation at the event is a step towards that shared vision of meaningful employment and renewed hope.

We would like to express our thanks to our employer partners - Acestes Pte Ltd, Agape Services, KFC, BNL Holdings, Century Evergreen Pte Ltd , Ceva Logistics, Edom Technology, McDonald's , LS 2 Holdings Limited , KFC , Pizza Hut , Spa Esprit , UEMS Solutions , Ya Kun Kaya Toast , Novotel Singapore and Chocz.

Also, special thanks to our donors - Bethesda Frankel for sponsoring the food, Deutsche Telekom for the goodies bags, our volunteers from AKG Singapore, Fergus Consultancy Singapore, SBF Foundation and our very own home-grown volunteers for making this event a success.

Today, we celebrate 22 years of New Hope Community Services đź’™

22 years of showing up.
22 years of serving with compassion.
22 years of building hope together.

At New Hope Community Services, we believe that each of us is created with purpose, to serve and to bring hope to others. That belief has shaped who we are and continues to guide us in the way we care for the community.

Tonight, we are gathering at Kampung Siglap Life Skills Training & Retreat Centre with our staff and their families to celebrate the people behind this journey, those who have stood together through every season to build New Hope.

22 years, stronger together.

To all our partners, donors, volunteers, and staff, thank you for being part of this story. We would not be here without you 🤍

Through Project V, meaningful partnerships come to life. 🤝

Earlier this month, our Interim CEO, Pastor Andrew Khoo , attended the Project V 2025 Appreciation Event. A celebration of partnerships that have created lasting impact in the community.

An initiative by the NCSS Singapore and National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre , Project V connects corporates with social service agencies to provide sustained volunteer support over time.

Through this initiative, New Hope Community Services partnered with CHARLES & KEITH to journey alongside our tenants over six months. What started as grocery shopping trips and arts & crafts sessions grew into something more, genuine connections built on trust and consistency.

From everyday activities to festive celebrations, each interaction became a meaningful touchpoint, reminding us that transformation often begins with simply showing up, again and again.

We are deeply grateful to NCSS, NVPC, and Charles & Keith for their partnership and commitment to building a more caring and connected community. đź’›

The Olive Tree Fund supports the retreats and lifeskills programmes at Kampung Siglap Lifeskills & Retreat Centre, run by New Hope Community Services.

At New Hope, we journey with people who are displaced or disadvantaged. While our services in transitional shelters and HDB rental housing help bring stability, many continue to carry deep emotional and mental burdens that require more than practical support alone.

Kampung Siglap provides the space to pause, reflect, and rebuild from within. Through simple, well-designed retreats and lifeskills programmes, participants find rest, regain confidence, and begin to hope again.

The Olive Tree Fund exists to sustain this work for the long term. Inspired by the olive tree, deeply rooted and fruitful over time, it allows us to run these programmes with care, dignity, and consistency.

At its heart, this Fund seeks to inspire hope and change and to become the reason the displaced and disadvantaged can hope again.

A shelter is not just about having a place to stay. The environment shapes how someone feels, thinks, and takes their next steps.

With the support of MSF Singapore , one of our Transitional Shelter units has have been redesigned to provide greater personal privacy and more storage space. These enhancements create a more liveable and respectful environment for residents.

Research has shown that shelter conditions such as privacy, safety, and stability influence whether rough sleepers are willing to come indoors and engage with support systems. A well-designed environment can also improve emotional well-being and support individuals as they work towards longer-term housing.

This upgrade is a part of a broader effort to make shelter spaces more responsive to real needs on the ground.

We are grateful to MSF for this initiative and for strengthening support for those taking steps out of homelessness.
